To sell on Ajio you register your interest on the AJIO Commerce Seller Central at seller.ajio.com, speak to the partner onboarding team, sign a seller agreement, catalogue your products, pack orders when they arrive, and get paid by direct bank transfer. You need a regular GST number, a PAN, a bank account and either a registered trademark or a brand authorisation letter. Ajio does not publish its commission rates. They are agreed during onboarding.
This guide covers who qualifies, the step by step process, documents, Ajio Luxe and Ajio Business, catalogue standards, fulfilment, payments, fees, returns, sale events and the mistakes we see brands make.
Who can sell on Ajio
Ajio is a Reliance Retail fashion platform with 6,000+ brands, 3 million+ styles and over 100 million shoppers. Unlike Amazon or Flipkart, it is brand-led. The official FAQ says anyone in India who sells genuine products and is an authorised manufacturer or distributor can apply.
In practice that means:
- You own a brand with a trademark, or you hold a distributor or retailer authorisation from the brand owner.
- You have a regular GST registration. Composition scheme GST is not accepted.
- You sell in one of these categories: fashion, footwear, home, kitchen and furniture, luggage, beauty, healthcare and hygiene, home improvement or Indian crafts.
- You sell within India only.
You do not need a website. Proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs and private limited companies can all apply, though the document list asks for CIN and TAN where they apply.
Can you sell on Ajio without GST? No. The FAQ is explicit that a regular GSTIN is mandatory.
Ajio seller registration, step by step
Ajio describes its own process in four steps:
- Speak to the partner onboarding team. Submit your interest and business details on seller.ajio.com. The onboarding team reviews your brand and, if it fits, walks you through the seller agreement. Third-party guides describe the underlying form as the Reliance Retail supplier registration portal, where you enter PAN, MSME status, address, OTP-verified contact details and product category.
- Catalogue your products. Once your profile is verified you get portal access. You can create listings one by one or in bulk through Excel or CSV. A minimum of one listing is required, and some restricted categories need prior approval.
- Process your orders. Orders appear in real time on the seller portal. You pick, pack and mark them Ready for Dispatch within the cut-off window, and Ajio's logistics partners collect them.
- Get paid. Payments go to your registered bank account on the schedule fixed at onboarding.
Approval time is not published. Third-party estimates range from 7 to 10 business days to about 25 business days.
Documents you will need
The official FAQ lists these:
- Phone number and email
- Company details, registration address and fulfilment centre address
- PAN card
- Regular GSTIN certificate
- Bank account with KYC documents(a cancelled cheque is standard)
- CIN and TAN, where your entity has them
- Trademark registration certificate, or a brand authorisation certificate if you are a retailer or distributor
Keep scans clear and matching. The name on the PAN, GST and bank account should be identical. Mismatches are the most common reason applications stall.
Ajio Luxe and Ajio Business explained
Ajio Luxe is Ajio's storefront for luxury and premium labels. There is no separate public sign-up. You register interest through the same seller portal and the Luxe team curates brands. Third-party onboarding guides say Luxe accepts only luxury or premium brands and their licensed distributors, in categories such as designer apparel, luxury footwear, bags, eyewear, watches, jewellery and beauty, and asks for higher image standards. If your brand sells at mass-market price points, apply to the main Ajio platform instead.
Ajio Business is different. It is a B2B wholesale app from Reliance for small and medium retailers to buy fashion stock. It is a buying channel for shop owners, not a seller registration route. If you are a brand, Ajio Business is a distribution question to raise with your onboarding manager, not a form to fill.
Catalogue standards
Ajio does not publish pixel specifications on its seller pages. What it does require is a correct category, and complete attributes such as size, model and colour for every product. Ajio is known for holding listings to a higher bar on imagery and attribute completeness than mass marketplaces.
Our working standards, drawn from onboarding brands on Ajio and Myntra:
- Model shots on a clean background, front, back and detail, in a consistent style across the range.
- Fill every attribute field. Fabric, fit, occasion, wash care and neck type drive filters on Ajio.
- Size charts that match the actual garment measurements. Wrong sizing is the largest driver of fashion returns.
- Bulk upload via the CSV template to keep naming consistent across hundreds of SKUs.
Fulfilment and payments
Ajio runs a business-to-business-to-consumer model. The FAQ states that Ajio purchases your goods and manages most of the customer-facing work, so the shopper does not see your name.
There are two fulfilment options:
- JIT(just in time). Orders move from your warehouse to an Ajio warehouse, where quality checks happen before delivery. Ajio positions this as the lower-returns option.
- Dropship. Ajio's logistics partner collects from your fulfilment centre and delivers direct to the customer. Faster delivery, but your packing and QC must be tight.
You choose the model with the onboarding team. Ajio's own logistics network handles delivery in both cases.
Payments are made to your registered bank account on the schedule agreed at onboarding. The exact cycle is not published. Sellers report that each settlement is a net figure: order value less commission, logistics, return or RTO charges and taxes including 1 percent TCS.
Fees and returns, honestly
Ajio does not publish commission rates. The FAQ says fees are a combination of commission and operating expenses agreed during registration, charged only when a customer orders. The three components are a margin that depends on category, brand and order item value, shipping costs, and GST on all fees.
Any "Ajio seller fees calculator" you find online is an estimate. Third-party figures range from 8 to 10 percent to 25 to 40 percent. One calculator lists model-based rates and flat logistics charges but carries its own disclaimer to verify in the vendor dashboard. The spread tells you the real answer: your rate is negotiated, and it depends on your category, brand and the fulfilment model you sign. Ask for it in writing before you list.
On returns, Ajio's Seller Protection Fund covers products damaged or lost in transit and items returned damaged, provided you file a claim with documentation within three working days. Customer-initiated returns for fit or preference are a cost of business on every fashion marketplace. Reverse logistics charges appear against each return in the panel, so budget for them in your pricing.
Ajio vs Myntra
Both are curated, brand-first fashion marketplaces. Both require regular GST, PAN, a bank account and a trademark or brand authorisation. Both offer a seller-packs model and a just-in-time model.
The differences that matter:
- Reach. Ajio cites 100 million+ shoppers and 6,000+ brands. Myntra is reported at around 60 million weekly active users.
- Approval. Myntra approval is reported at 15 to 45 business days and rejects most applicants. Ajio is also curated but is generally quicker to onboard emerging brands.
- Model. Ajio purchases goods in a B2B2C structure. Myntra offers a wider menu including full warehousing(FBM).
Sale events
Ajio's two headline events are the All Stars Sale and the Big Bold Sale. In 2025 the All Stars Sale ran from 11 September to 2 October and the Big Bold Sale started on 4 December with 27 lakh+ styles from 6,000+ brands. Ajio also runs an All Stars edition in late March and a Big Bold edition in late June, plus Diwali, Black Friday and end-of-season sales.
Your account manager will share event participation and discount depth. Confirm stock cover, packing capacity and your net margin at the event price before you opt in.
Mistakes to avoid
- Applying with composition-scheme GST. It will be rejected.
- Applying without a trademark or a brand authorisation letter.
- Listing with incomplete attributes. Ajio's filters depend on them, and thin listings do not surface.
- Signing the seller agreement without reading the commission, logistics and return clauses.
- Missing the Ready for Dispatch cut-off. Late dispatch hurts your account health.
- Not filing Seller Protection claims within three working days.
- Ignoring settlement reconciliation.
