To sell on Myntra you apply through the Myntra Partner Portal at partners.myntrainfo.com, get your business and brand verified, pass a catalogue review, agree commercial terms, and then go live. Myntra is a brand-led fashion marketplace, so the application is stronger if you own a trademark or hold authorisation from the brand owner. Commission rates are not published; they are set per seller and per category during onboarding. This guide covers who qualifies, the documents you need, how to get your catalogue past review, the fulfilment options, the honest picture on fees and returns, and how Myntra compares with Ajio.
Who can sell on Myntra
Myntra describes itself as "an online marketplace platform that enables independent sellers to sell their products to buyers". In practice it curates who gets in. The platform is built around brands, from international labels to homegrown D2C names, and its onboarding programmes are pitched at brands rather than generic traders.
Third-party guides say Myntra accepts sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs and private limited companies. You need a GST registration, a PAN and a current account in the business name.
Can you sell on Myntra without a brand? Some guides claim you can list non-branded products if you have a registered business entity. Myntra has not published a rule either way. Our experience is that applications with a registered trademark, or a brand authorisation letter from the trademark owner, are approved far more often. If you are selling unbranded stock, expect a harder review and consider registering your own label first.
If you are an early-stage Indian D2C brand, there is a dedicated route. In January 2026 Myntra launched a zero-commission model for new homegrown fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands under its Myntra Rising Stars programme, aimed at brands that "primarily sell through their own websites or social media channels". The programme hosts over 2,000 brands.
Myntra seller registration, step by step
- Go to partners.myntrainfo.com and register. The portal is the single place "for all your interactions with Myntra and Jabong".
- Enter business details: legal name, entity type, GST, PAN, bank account and contact person.
- Upload documents(list below) and submit the brand or product profile.
- Business and brand verification. Myntra checks your entity, tax status and right to sell the brand.
- Catalogue evaluation. Myntra reviews sample products, imagery and pricing for category fit.
- Commercial approval. This is where commission, payment terms and fulfilment model are agreed.
- Inventory and system integration, then go-live.
Myntra says its AI-powered Seller Growth Hub has cut end-to-end onboarding "from 10-15 days to approximately 1-2 days, with seller registration completing within minutes". That is the platform's own claim for a clean application. If documents are missing or the catalogue fails review, it takes longer.
Documents you need
The commonly cited list:
- GST registration certificate(regular, not composition)
- PAN of the business
- Business registration proof(certificate of incorporation, partnership deed or shop licence)
- Cancelled cheque and bank details
- Trademark certificate, or a brand authorisation letter if you resell someone else's brand
- SKU sheet, product catalogue and product images
Keep the legal name identical across GST, PAN and bank. Mismatches are the most common reason a verification stalls.
Catalogue standards that pass review
Myntra does not publish its image specification on a public page. The exact spec sheet is shared inside the partner portal once you are onboarded. What is public is how Myntra now processes catalogues: its system "maps up to 40 structural attributes per product", runs a compliance check called Scout, and keeps "human catalog experts as the final check on listing accuracy".
Practical standards we apply for Myntra catalogues, based on what passes:
- Model shots for apparel, on a plain light background, front, back and side, plus a close-up of fabric or detail
- Consistent framing and lighting across a style's colour variants
- A category-correct size chart in centimetres and inches
- Every attribute filled: fabric, fit, occasion, sleeve, neck, wash care, country of origin
- Prices and MRP that match the physical tag
- No text, watermarks or collages on images
Myntra says catalogue generation turnaround is now "4 hours" instead of a day. That helps only if your inputs are right the first time.
Fulfilment choices
Myntra runs its own logistics network and says it delivers to "98 per cent of serviceable pin codes". Sellers broadly choose between two arrangements, described by third-party guides as a Myntra-managed model where stock sits with Myntra, and a channel partner or seller-managed model where you hold stock and ship against orders. Myntra has not published these programme names, so confirm the current terms during commercial approval.
Two speed programmes matter for visibility. M-Express offers 1-2 day delivery. M-Now is a hyperlocal service delivering in around 30 minutes in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Hyderabad, stocking "over 90K SKUs from 600+ brands". Being eligible for these tags usually means keeping stock in or near Myntra's fulfilment network.
Fees and returns, honestly
Myntra does not publish a commission rate card. Rates are agreed at onboarding and vary by category, seller tenure and performance. Livemint, citing two sellers, reported in June 2025 that Myntra had moved from "its earlier flat 15-16% commission" to rates "as low as 0-1% for products priced under Rs 500 in select categories" such as westernwear, sports apparel and innerwear. Treat any blog that quotes a single flat percentage with suspicion.
Commission is not the whole cost. Even under the zero-commission Rising Stars model, brands still pay for logistics, fulfilment and advertising. As MediaNama put it, "You still have to spend on sponsored ads or sponsored search to be visible to customers". Myntra has also not disclosed how long the zero-commission window lasts.
Returns are the other big line. Myntra offers customers "Easy 14 days returns" and 14-day exchanges, with some products limited to 10 days and some non-returnable. Fashion return rates are high, and every return carries reverse logistics and a quality check before the refund. Myntra has been curbing abuse on the customer side since 2023, including flagging high-return profiles, but sellers should still model returns into pricing. Accurate size charts and honest imagery are the cheapest way to cut them.
Is selling on Myntra profitable? It can be, for brands with margin to absorb commission, ads and returns, and with sizes and imagery good enough to keep return rates down. It is rarely profitable for thin-margin resellers of unbranded stock.
Myntra vs Ajio
Both are brand-led fashion marketplaces and most brands end up on both. Ajio, owned by Reliance Retail, lists "6,000+ brands, 3 million+ styles". Registration runs through seller.ajio.com, where Ajio says its onboarding team "will get in touch with you once you register your business details". Third-party guides say Ajio wants a regular GST number and a trademark certificate, and that approval can take up to 25 business days. Ajio's commission is also unpublished; blog estimates range from 8-10% to 15-30% by category, which tells you how unreliable those estimates are.
Practical differences: Myntra has the larger audience and the bigger sale events; Ajio's approval is slower and more manual; catalogue specs differ, so plan two image sets. If you want to sell on Myntra and Ajio together, build one master catalogue and adapt it per platform.
Sale events and how sellers take part
Myntra's two anchor events are the End of Reason Sale(EORS), usually in late May or June with a second edition in December, and the Big Fashion Festival(BFF) before Diwali. EORS 2026 opened on 29 May with over 15,000 brands, including 5,000 making their debut, and 6 million styles. BFF 2025 launched on 20 September with "4 million+ styles across 15,000 brands".
Participation is by nomination. Your category manager shares event discount slabs and stock commitments weeks in advance. You need approved catalogues, inventory in place, competitive event pricing and an ads budget. Myntra gives participating brands "search insights, performance dashboards, and partner support". In EORS 2025, 60% of orders came from Tier 2 towns, so make sure your serviceability and sizing suit non-metro buyers.
Mistakes to avoid
- Applying without a trademark or authorisation letter
- Legal name mismatches across GST, PAN and bank
- Uploading images shot for Instagram rather than a marketplace spec
- Missing attributes, which hurts search ranking
- Pricing off a commission figure from a blog instead of your signed terms
- Ignoring return rates until the payout statement arrives
- Going into EORS or BFF without stock cover or an ads plan
FAQ
