A+ Content is the branded section that appears below the bullet points on an Amazon product page, replacing the plain-text description with banners, lifestyle images, feature grids and comparison charts. Shoppers see it on Amazon.in under the heading "From the manufacturer" or "Product description". It is built in the A+ Content Manager in Seller Central and applied to ASINs you own. Only sellers whose brand is enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry, which requires a registered or pending trademark, can create it; standard A+ is free as of September 2026.
How A+ Content works
You assemble a page from Amazon's fixed modules: standard image and text blocks, a four-image grid, a comparison chart that links several of your ASINs, a "tech specs" table and a Brand Story carousel that runs across all your listings. Each module has strict image dimensions and text limits, and Amazon reviews every submission for policy compliance (no pricing, no promotional claims like "best seller", no shipping promises, no references to competitors) before it goes live, which normally takes a few days. Once approved you can apply one piece of content to many ASINs at once, including variation families.
Premium A+ Content unlocks larger modules, video, interactive hotspots and image carousels. Amazon's published eligibility as of September 2026 is a Brand Story published on all your brand-owned ASINs plus at least five approved A+ submissions in the last 12 months; Amazon checks at the start of each month and enables it automatically. Amazon does not charge for Premium A+ in India at present, though it has stated this could change.
Worked example of the effect: a ₹1,499 electric kettle listing converts 8% of detail-page visits. Amazon's own guidance is that standard A+ can lift sales by up to 8% and Premium A+ by up to 20%, so even a conservative 5% relative gain takes conversion to 8.4%. On 20,000 monthly page views that is 80 extra orders, or about ₹1,20,000 of sales, with no additional ad spend. Results vary widely by category and by how weak the page was before.
Why A+ Content matters for sellers
A+ Content does three jobs. It answers the questions that stop a purchase (size, compatibility, what is in the box) with pictures rather than a wall of text, which matters on mobile where most Indian shoppers browse. It cross-sells through the comparison chart, keeping a shopper inside your catalogue instead of scrolling to a competitor. And it makes ad spend more efficient: a better-converting page lowers the ACoS of every campaign pointing at it. A+ text is not indexed for Amazon search in the same way as the title and bullets, so it does not replace keyword work; it improves what happens after the click.
How to build A+ Content well
- Lead with the buying objection. The first module should settle the biggest reason people hesitate, such as a size chart for apparel or a compatibility list for accessories.
- Design for the phone. Keep text inside images large, and do not rely on hover or wide banners that shrink to nothing on a 6-inch screen.
- Use the comparison chart on every family so the shopper who wants a bigger or cheaper variant finds yours.
- Add alt text to every image. It is required for accessibility and is the only A+ text Amazon reads.
- Publish a Brand Story early. It counts towards Premium A+ eligibility and takes one submission to cover the whole catalogue.
