Amazon SPN, the Service Provider Network, is the marketplace-run directory where Amazon lists third-party agencies and freelancers that have met its criteria to serve sellers. It exists because most sellers do not want to do everything themselves: product photography, listing creation, ad management, tax filing, FBA preparation and account reinstatement are all specialist jobs. On Amazon.in the network is reached from Seller Central or from sell.amazon.in, and as of September 2026 Amazon says it lists more than 750 providers for India-based sellers.
How Amazon SPN works
Providers apply to Amazon, are screened against service-specific criteria and, if accepted, appear in the directory as qualified service providers with a profile, pricing, languages, locations and reviews. Amazon India lists 16 service categories: Imaging, Account Management, Enhanced Brand Content (A+ Content), Domestic Shipping, FBA Preparation, Accounting, Taxes, Manufacturing, Cataloguing, Advertising Optimisation, Training, Storage, Excess Inventory, Compliance, Seller Reinstatement and Translation.
A seller picks a category, filters by location, language and rating, opens a profile and clicks Contact Provider. The provider then gets in touch to scope and quote the work. The commercial agreement is between seller and provider; Amazon does not set the price or take a cut of it, and the provider's fee is paid outside the seller's Amazon settlement. Amazon states that the directory shows verified peer reviews from roughly 37,000 Amazon.in sellers, which is the main signal of quality once a provider is listed.
Worked example: a new apparel seller in Surat needs 40 SKUs photographed and listed. Through SPN they shortlist three imaging providers in Gujarat, compare a quote of ₹350 per SKU for table-top shots with ₹900 per SKU for model shots, and pick based on reviews and turnaround. The invoice is settled directly with the studio.
Why Amazon SPN matters for sellers
The listing itself is not a guarantee of results, but it does mean Amazon has checked the provider's basic credentials and that other sellers have reviewed them publicly. For sellers being approached by unknown "Amazon partner" agencies, SPN is the quickest way to check whether a claim is true. It is also the route Amazon's own onboarding teams point new sellers towards when they ask for help with cataloguing or advertising.
How to choose an SPN provider
- Read recent reviews, not the average rating, and look for sellers in your category.
- Ask for the scope in writing: number of SKUs, revisions, turnaround and who owns the final files.
- Compare with non-SPN agencies too. Many capable ecommerce agencies, including marketplace-specialist teams, serve Amazon sellers without an SPN listing.
- Keep your own Seller Central login; grant user permissions rather than sharing credentials.
- Review ad spend outcomes monthly against ACoS and TACoS if you hire for advertising.
