Amazon.ae FBA Calculator: Work Out Fees, VAT and Profit per Unit in AED

This calculator estimates the profit on one unit sold through Fulfilment by Amazon on Amazon.ae. Enter your selling price, product cost, referral rate, FBA fulfilment fee and storage, and it returns fees, VAT on fees and what is left. The defaults come from Amazon.ae's published rates as of October 2026: FBA fulfilment starts at AED 5.5 per unit in Amazon's rate table (the headline says AED 7.5) and storage is AED 2 per cubic foot per month. Every rate is editable, because Amazon changes fees and your category rate is your own.

Which rates are the defaults?

• Selling price and product cost. Placeholders you replace. They are not Amazon rates.
• Referral rate. Set to 10% as an illustration only. Amazon says most referral fees are between 4.5% and 15% by category. Use the rate for your category from Amazon.ae referral fees by category.
• FBA fulfilment fee. Set to AED 9.5, the published rate for a standard parcel up to 0.5 kg on an item priced above AED 25, effective 1 August 2025. Look up your size tier on Amazon.ae FBA fees.
• Storage. AED 2 per cubic foot per month.
• VAT on fees. 5%. Amazon displays fees excluding VAT and adds VAT to them.

How does the calculation work?

Referral fee is the higher of your percentage of the selling price and the minimum. Amazon lists a minimum referral fee of AED 1 in most categories, and AED 0 for Grocery and Pet Products. Amazon applies the percentage to the total price, including item price, shipping cost and any gift-wrapping charges. Storage is volume times months times the monthly rate. The UAE standard VAT rate is 5%. VAT is added to the sum of the three fees, then everything is taken off the selling price along with your product cost.

With the defaults, a AED 100 item pays AED 10.00 referral, AED 9.50 fulfilment and AED 0.20 storage, which is AED 19.70 before VAT and AED 20.69 with 5% VAT. That leaves AED 39.31 after a AED 40 product cost. Change any input and the table recalculates.

What does this calculator leave out?

• Closing fee. Amazon lists a closing fee in the FBA fee formula, but the public pricing page gives no amount. Add it in "other costs" once you see it in your fee preview.
• Long-term storage. Charged on stock held more than 365 days; the amount is not on the public page. Keep the months input well under 12.
• Returns and removals. Removal order fees exist, with no amount published.
• Advertising. Enter your expected ad cost per unit under other costs. Amazon Advertising is cost-per-click and auction-based.
• VAT recovery. If you are VAT-registered you may reclaim VAT on fees, which would raise profit. See VAT on Amazon.ae and noon fees. This is general information, not tax advice; confirm with the FTA.

Which FBA fulfilment fee should I enter? Use the rate for your product's size tier and weight from Amazon.ae's table, which has separate columns for items priced AED 25 or less and above AED 25, effective 1 August 2025. The default AED 9.5 is only one row.

How is FBA storage calculated? Amazon charges AED 2 per cubic foot per month, based on the volume your inventory occupies. Multiply your unit volume by the months it sits. Detail is on Amazon.ae storage fees.

Does the calculator include VAT? Yes, as a separate line at an editable 5%. Amazon displays fees excluding VAT and adds VAT on top.

What referral rate should I use? The one for your category. Amazon says most fall between 4.5% and 15%. The 10% default is only an example, so replace it.
