Amazon.ae Seller Fees in 2026: Referral, Fulfilment, Storage and VAT Explained in AED

Selling on Amazon.ae costs a referral fee on every sale, plus a fulfilment cost that depends on how you deliver, plus storage if you use FBA. Amazon publishes most referral fees between 4.5% and 15% of the sales price, with the lowest tier starting at 5% or AED 1.0 minimum. Easy Ship starts at AED 14 per shipment, FBA fulfilment from AED 5.5 per unit in Amazon's rate table, and FBA storage is AED 2 per cubic foot per month. All of these exclude VAT. What fees does an Amazon.ae seller pay?

Amazon groups seller costs into referral fees, fulfilment fees and other costs such as long-term storage, removals, advertising and optional premium account services. In practice you look at four buckets:

Amazon's fulfilment comparison also lists a closing fee in the FBA fee formula, "Referral Fee + Closing Fee + Fulfillment Fee + Storage Fees". The pricing page does not give a closing-fee amount, so check it in your Seller Central fee preview for each product.

How much is the Amazon.ae referral fee?

The referral fee is a percentage of the sales price and changes by category. Amazon says most are between 4.5% and 15% and lists a minimum referral fee of AED 1 in most categories, with AED 0 for Grocery and Pet Products. Amazon says the fee is a percentage of the total price, including item price, shipping cost and any gift-wrapping charges, or the minimum, whichever is greater.

Some categories carry short promotional rates. Amazon's own pricing page lists dated promotions, and the ones it names have end dates in the past, for example a window that ran to 31 August 2025. What does it cost to deliver an order?

You have three routes. Amazon's comparison table sets out who does what:

• FBA. Amazon stores, packs and ships; Prime badge; cash on delivery available; fees are referral, closing, fulfilment and storage.
• Easy Ship. You store and pack, schedule a pickup, and an Amazon agent delivers; cash on delivery supported; fees are referral plus shipping.
• Self-ship. You store, pack and ship yourself; you pay only the referral fee to Amazon plus your own courier.

Easy Ship starts at AED 14 per shipment, varies by size, and Amazon states the fee as effective from 22 August 2022; sellers can collect up to AED 10 per shipment from the customer. Amazon's headline says FBA fulfilment starts at AED 7.5 per unit, but its own detailed table starts lower, at AED 5.5 for a Small Envelope up to 0.1 kg priced AED 25 or less. That table took effect on 1 August 2025 and has separate rates for items priced AED 25 or less and above AED 25. What does FBA storage cost?

Amazon lists AED 2 per cubic foot per month, charged on the volume your stock takes up, and says fees are typically charged between the 7th and 15th day of the following month. Inventory held for more than 365 days attracts a long-term storage fee, assessed monthly. Amazon does not print the long-term amount on the public pricing page. How does VAT apply to Amazon.ae fees?

Amazon says "all listed fees are displayed excluding applicable VAT" and that it adds VAT to all fees shown. The UAE standard VAT rate is 5%. Worked example: one AED 100 item, two ways

Illustrative only. Assume a small item sold at AED 100 in a category with a 10% referral fee (within the published 4.5% to 15% range), a standard parcel up to 0.5 kg priced above AED 25, and 0.05 cubic foot of storage for one month. The FBA fulfilment rate of AED 9.5 comes from Amazon's table.

What fees are easy to miss?

• Advertising. Amazon Advertising uses a cost-per-click, auction-based model, and this is optional.
• Removal order fees. They exist; the pricing page gives no amount.
• Long-term storage. Triggered at 365 days, amount not published on the public page.
• Fee changes. Fulfilment rates carry effective dates, so a margin built last year may be wrong now.
