noon penalises sellers through four routes: performance limits (DirectShip sellers must keep the cancellation rate under 2.5% and the late shipment rate under 3% over 7 days, or face stock pulldown, offer deactivation, suspension or termination), policy violations that carry a fine and black points, per-order charges such as cancellation penalties, and recovery action for unpaid balances. This guide is as of October 2026 and uses noon's own help pages. Counterfeit penalties are covered in noon's anti-counterfeit policy.

noon Seller Penalties in 2026: Performance Limits, Fines, Black Points and How to Dispute a Violation
By Blooprint team · Published 10 October 2026 · 6 min read
Key takeaways
- For DirectShip sellers noon sets a cancellation rate under 2.5% and a late shipment rate under 3% over any 7 days, and penalties include stock pulldown, offer deactivation, suspension or termination.
- Policy violations carry a fine and black points shown in the Compliance tab of Seller Lab; you can dispute a sanctioned violation or accept it and submit a plan of action.
- A negative account balance must be cleared within 30 days or noon can confiscate FBN inventory and pursue legal recovery.
- noon does not publish a per-violation fine table or the black-point thresholds for suspension, so the exact amount is only visible on your own violation.

What performance limits does noon enforce?
noon's reputation dashboard, under Account Health and Reports, tracks four metrics. Each applies to different fulfilment models:
| Metric | What it measures | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Item Defect Rate | Share of items delivered in the last 60 days with a 1 or 2 star rating or a seller-controllable return | All models, including FBN |
| Cancellation Rate | Items cancelled as out of stock, last 10 days | DirectShip and Direct Delivery; FBN excluded |
| Late Shipment Rate | Items shipped after the Estimated Shipping Date, last 10 days | DirectShip and Direct Delivery; FBN excluded |
| Compliance | Policy violations raised against your account | All |
The dashboard combines them into an Account Health Score, which is the minimum across Customer Satisfaction, Shipping Performance and Policy Compliance. The status runs from Excellent through Great, Average and At Risk to Critical, where Critical means the account is at risk of going offline. One weak area therefore drags the whole score down.
noon does not publish numeric cut-offs for Item Defect Rate or for the dashboard thresholds on the page we read. The DirectShip numbers below are the only published ones.
What are the DirectShip limits?
For DirectShip, noon's performance management page sets two standards:
- Cancellation rate under 2.5% in any 7-day period. It counts orders rejected by the seller or marked lost before handover, against orders with an Estimated Shipping Date in that period.
- Late shipment rate below 3% in any 7-day period, counting orders handed over after the Estimated Shipping Date.
Failing either leads to penalties including stock pulldown, offer deactivation and even store suspension or termination. noon emails you about any penal action. To restore standing you submit a Plan of Action to seller@noon.com, with a self-assessment of the causes and a detailed plan to prevent them.
A quick illustration, using the 2.5% limit: if 400 orders have an Estimated Shipping Date in a week, 10 cancellations is exactly 2.5%, so you need 9 or fewer to be under. The dashboard's 10-day view and the policy's 7-day view use different windows, so check which one your page shows.
Processing time also matters. noon says you set a realistic processing time of 1 to 10 days and must reject orders promptly if stock is unavailable; cancellation charges apply to orders you reject or cancel and hurt performance. An order rejected as out of stock cannot be fulfilled afterwards, even if stock turns up.
How do policy violations, fines and black points work?
The Compliance tab lists each violation with its type and code, the date, any fine and black points, and a status. The violation examples noon gives include Listing of Prohibited Products and Trademark Misuse. Black points are deductions from your policy compliance score whenever a violation is sanctioned. They lower your Policy Compliance score and account health, and noon says that, depending on violation history, a high balance can lead to listing restrictions, suspension or permanent deactivation.
Not published: the black points per violation type, the point total at which suspension starts, and a fine schedule. The only fine floors we found are in the conduct policy: a minimum of AED/SAR 20,000 for fraudulent conduct and AED/SAR 200,000 for counterfeits.
How do you dispute or fix a noon violation?
A violation starts as Sanctioned. You then choose one of two options:
- Dispute if you think it was a mistake. Explain with dates, context and evidence such as invoices, certificates of authenticity, authorisation letters or logs.
- Accept and Fix if you accept responsibility. You acknowledge the infringement and the associated penalties and provide a Plan of Action.
Upload evidence as PDF, PNG, JPG or CSV up to 10 MB. Outcomes: a dismissed or voided violation removes its penalties and black points; an upheld one keeps them; "Fixed" means noon approved your fixes as good faith, but black points may still count toward account health.
Separately, if a warehouse turns red, noon says you have 7 days to send a Plan of Action by replying to its email or writing to seller@noon.com. Write it as facts: cause, correction, and the control that stops a repeat. For contact routes, see noon seller support.
Which charges show up as penalties on your statement?
noon's statement report lists penalty line items: a penalty on seller-initiated cancellations such as out-of-stock, a penalty on an unfulfilled customer warranty claim, a penalty when another seller had to fulfil an order you missed, a Retention Penalty Fee to recover compensation paid to a customer where the seller is at fault, and a catch-all for other penalties. The amounts are not stated on that page.
Warranty is a common source. For categories where warranty is mandatory, noon says failure to uphold it may bring penalties or regulatory action, and if a warranty claim is not resolved within noon's stated timeframe, noon may refund the customer in full and debit the amount from your account. Read noon warranty requirements before you list electronics.
What happens if your account balance goes negative?
A negative balance happens when sales proceeds, after returns, are less than the fees you owe. noon requires you to clear it within 30 days; if not, it can confiscate FBN inventory, pursue legal proceedings at your cost and levy financial penalties. Once inventory is confiscated, ownership passes to noon and you lose payment or dispute rights over it. Returned stock you do not collect within the stated window is also confiscated: for pick-up shipments the window is 10 business days from the Ready for Collection date.
What if you want to leave noon?
You email an offboarding request on company letterhead at least one month ahead, delist your catalogue 21 days before deactivation and clear all dues. Deactivation takes place 90 days after noon accepts the request, and you stay liable for valid charges and claims afterwards.
How to stay inside the limits
- Keep stock counts accurate and pause products before you run out.
- Set processing time you can actually meet, not the shortest option.
- Check the Compliance tab weekly and answer within the stated windows.
- Keep authenticity and brand papers per SKU, per the counterfeit guide.
- Use noon's bulk upload correctly to avoid duplicate listings, which noon lists as a violation.
FAQ
What are noon's DirectShip performance limits? Cancellation rate under 2.5% and late shipment rate below 3% in any 7-day period. Failure can lead to stock pulldown, offer deactivation, suspension or termination, and you restore standing with a Plan of Action to seller@noon.com.
How much is a noon seller fine? noon does not publish a general fine table. Each violation shows its own fine and black points in the Compliance tab. The published floors are AED/SAR 20,000 for fraud and AED/SAR 200,000 for counterfeits.
What are black points on noon? Deductions from your policy compliance score whenever a violation is sanctioned. They are removed if the violation is dismissed or voided, and a high balance can lead to restrictions, suspension or deactivation.
Can I appeal a noon violation? Yes. In the Compliance tab you can dispute a sanctioned violation with evidence, or accept it and submit a Plan of Action. noon does not publish a review turnaround on the page we read.
How long do I have to clear a negative balance? Not more than 30 days from the date it turned negative, otherwise noon may confiscate FBN inventory and take legal action.
Does the cancellation limit apply to FBN? No. noon's dashboard excludes FBN from Cancellation Rate and Late Shipment Rate; Item Defect Rate applies to all fulfilment models.
What minimum seller rating does noon expect? A minimum Seller Rating of 3.0, and offers or brands rated Poor or Very Poor on seller-controllable returns invoke penal action.
Keep your noon account healthy
Most penalties trace back to stock accuracy, dispatch speed and listing data. If you want those run for you, see noon account management from Blooprint. We explain noon's process; we do not sell appeals.
