On noon you must set a warranty type on every product you list: Brand or Manufacturer Warranty, Seller Warranty or No Warranty. For the UAE, noon's seller warranty policy states that a one-year warranty is required for electronics, electrical appliances and machinery. If a customer claims, the item must be repaired, replaced or refunded within 14 days, or noon can refund the customer and take the money from your account. These rules are as published in noon's help center as of October 2026. This page explains the choices, the clocks and the mistakes that cost sellers money.

Which warranty type should you choose on noon?
noon asks you to pick one of three classifications whenever you list or update a product.
| Type | Who handles the claim | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Brand or Manufacturer Warranty | The brand, through its authorised service centres | Stock officially imported and supplied by the brand for the UAE |
| Seller Warranty | You, in line with noon's policy and timelines | Your own products, renewed or refurbished goods, modified items, some international stock |
| No Warranty | Nobody, under noon's policy | Items with no warranty from seller, brand or manufacturer |
Brand or Manufacturer Warranty comes with a duty. noon says you must make sure walk-in service centres exist in major cities or that the brand supports customers online, and you must keep the service centre details complete in Seller Lab. The way to add, correct or request removal of a centre is in noon's service centre management guide. That guide says you may add only authorised brand or manufacturer centres, not seller-managed or third-party ones, and that each location needs its own form, reviewed and approved by noon operations.
Check this first. "No Warranty" does not remove your legal duty. noon states that a seller may still be responsible for warranty claims if the product qualifies for warranty under local consumer protection law.
What does the UAE require?
noon's policy lists regional minimums. For the UAE it says a one-year warranty is required for electronics, electrical appliances and machinery, and that electronic accessories may vary as per brand or manufacturer policy. The same policy says warranty is mandatory by consumer protection law for specific categories in the UAE, KSA and Egypt, and that failing to uphold it can bring penalties from the authorities as well as a noon refund debited from you.
The KSA and Egypt rules differ, and noon lists a two-year requirement for both on their relevant categories. If you sell across borders, read the noon GCC cross-border guide before copying one warranty setting to every country.
This is general information, not legal advice. Confirm warranty duties for your products with the UAE consumer protection authority or a lawyer.
When must you list under Seller Warranty?
noon names three cases where you cannot use the brand's warranty and must use Seller Warranty:
- International stock where the brand does not give valid warranty support in the customer's country for the full required period.
- Renewed or refurbished products, unless they come directly from the brand and carry an official manufacturer warranty.
- Upgraded or modified products where you changed the original specification, unless the brand has formally confirmed it will still support the item.
In all three cases you remain responsible for service and support for the whole warranty period. The renewed and refurbished warranty lengths are in the noon refurbished and renewed guide.
How do you set or change warranty in Seller Lab?
For one product, go to Catalog, then My Catalog, open the product, click the Offer tab, scroll to Warranty, choose the type and enter the duration in months, then save. noon's page says the duration must be between 24 and 60 months in that form. The same article gives 12 months in its bulk examples and noon's renewed rules require 12 months, so these are not consistent. Ask Seller Support which value applies to your category before you set it.
For many products, use Catalog, Imports, Add Import, set Type to Warranty and Subtype to Warranty Update, download the template and upload it. The required columns are:
| Column | What to enter |
|---|---|
| country_code | Marketplace country, for example AE |
| psku | The noon product SKU code |
| business_model | noon, Global or Supermall |
| warranty_type | Exactly manufacturer, seller or no_warranty |
| warranty_duration | A plain number of months, no words |
Save as XLSX, CSV or TSV; noon does not accept old .xls files. Each row is one offer. If rows fail, the usual causes are a wrong psku, a warranty_type that is not lower case or spelled exactly, or "1 year" typed in the duration. The general import steps are in the noon bulk upload guide.
How long do you have to resolve a warranty claim?
noon's policy gives the seller, the authorised service centre or the brand's service centre 14 days from the date the item is delivered to them to resolve the claim. The fix is a repair, a replacement with an equivalent or upgraded model, or an authorised refund if neither is possible. All durations in the policy are calendar days unless marked as business days.
If the deadline is missed, noon may refund the customer in full and debit that amount from your account. Other clocks to know:
- Bulky items under brand warranty: on-site or home service within 7 days of the first notification to the service centre, and a final resolution inside an overall 14-day limit.
- Service centre rejects the claim for reasons other than customer misuse, such as a counterfeit, pre-activated or other-region unit: noon may refund the customer within 60 days of the rejection request and debit you.
- Your dispute window: 7 days from the refund notification sent to your warranty email address; later disputes are not considered.
For brand-warranty items, noon says it decides whether the customer goes to the service centre directly or noon collects the item and forwards it.
What a missed claim can cost: a worked example
Illustrative only. A customer buys a AED 1,200 appliance under a one-year Seller Warranty. It develops a fault in month five. The item reaches your service partner on day 1, and by day 14 it is not fixed. noon may refund AED 1,200 and debit it from your account. You still hold a faulty unit and must recover it through the warranty return process. The loss is the full AED 1,200 plus the cost of the product sitting in a repair queue, not just the repair fee.
For renewed and refurbished items repaired at noon's authorised service centre, noon also publishes an inspection fee and repair-level rate card, and gives an example where a AED 4,500 phone order is refunded in full and the seller pays the refund plus an AED 12 inspection fee when repair cost exceeds the repair-level limit.
What goes wrong most often?
- Wrong type on grey stock. Imported parallel stock listed as Brand Warranty, then rejected by the brand service centre. Use Seller Warranty unless the brand supports the UAE for the full period.
- Stale service centre details. noon says you must keep these accurate; wrong details send customers to the wrong place.
- Missed warranty emails. The 7-day dispute window runs from the email, so keep a monitored warranty address. Set your contact preferences in Seller Lab.
- Counterfeit or pre-activated units. These are the reasons noon names for refunds after brand rejection. See the anti-counterfeit policy guide and noon seller penalties.
FAQ
Does noon require a warranty on every product I sell in the UAE? noon requires you to choose a warranty classification on every listing. A one-year warranty is required by its policy for electronics, electrical appliances and machinery in the UAE. Other categories can be set to No Warranty, but local consumer law can still make you responsible for claims.
What is the difference between Brand Warranty and Seller Warranty on noon? Under Brand or Manufacturer Warranty, the brand's authorised service centres handle repairs. Under Seller Warranty, you manage repair, replacement or refund yourself within noon's timelines. Seller Warranty is mandatory for renewed or refurbished items without brand cover, modified items and some international stock.
How long does a seller have to fix a noon warranty claim? 14 calendar days from the date the item is delivered to the seller, their authorised service centre or the brand's service centre. If the claim is not resolved in that time, noon may refund the customer and debit your account.
Can I update warranty on many noon products at once? Yes. In Seller Lab use Catalog, Imports, Add Import, then choose Warranty and Warranty Update. Fill country_code, psku, business_model, warranty_type and warranty_duration. Use XLSX, CSV or TSV, with duration as a plain number of months.
What if noon refunds a customer and debits me for a warranty claim? You can raise a dispute within 7 days of the refund notification sent to your warranty email address. noon states disputes raised after that are not valid. Reply with evidence, such as service centre reports or repair records.
Do I need service centres for Brand Warranty items? Yes. noon says you must make sure accessible walk-in service centres exist in major cities, or that the brand supports customers online, and you must maintain the service centre details in Seller Lab.
Who do I ask if the warranty duration rules are unclear? Email seller@noon.com or raise a ticket in Seller Lab, as covered in noon seller support contacts. Ask for the answer in writing, because noon's own pages show different duration examples.
