noon Bulk Upload in 2026: How the NIS Sheet Works, the Limits and How to Fix Import Errors

By Blooprint team ยท Published 10 October 2026 ยท 7 min read

Key takeaways

  • noon bulk uploads use the New Item Setup (NIS) sheet in Seller Lab; noon says a valid upload is reviewed and published within three business days.
  • One NIS sheet takes up to 10,000 partner SKUs, saved as CSV, TSV or XLS, while the standard account limit is 25,000 new products a month.
  • Each colour variant counts as a product against the monthly limit, but a parent SKU with several size variants counts as one.
  • Import errors come back as a report under Catalog, Imports, Content; fix the rows and re-upload instead of starting again.

To bulk upload products to noon, open Catalog, My Catalog, Add Products, Create Multiple Products in Seller Lab, pick the category, product type and subtype, download the New Item Setup (NIS) template, fill it, save it as CSV, TSV or XLS and upload it under Catalog, Imports. noon says it reviews and publishes uploaded sheets within three business days. One sheet takes up to 10,000 partner SKUs. Details are as of October 2026.

How do you get the right noon bulk upload template?

The template depends on the product category, so you cannot reuse one sheet for a catalogue that spans laptops and clothing. noon's route is:

  1. Go to Catalog, My Catalog, Add Products, then Create Multiple Products.
  2. Select the category, product type and subtype.
  3. Download the bulk content template in English or in English plus Arabic.
  4. Choose the "With Instructions" option to get a sheet with an instruction tab for every field.

If you sell in Arabic-speaking UAE channels, the English plus Arabic template has paired EN and AR fields, and noon says filling both increases product visibility. Language rules per field are covered in Arabic listings on noon.

What do the colours and key fields in the NIS sheet mean?

noon colour-codes the sheet:

Colour Meaning
Red Mandatory for the product to go live
Green Important for identification and discovery
Plain Optional, improves product information
Grey Not required for the selected category

Four fields cause most trouble. Partner SKU Unique is your own identifier and appears in reporting and invoicing, so decide a naming scheme before you fill 5,000 rows. Brand must be selected from noon's existing brands or requested as a new brand. Product Title is what customers search. GTIN is used for inventory tracking and as the partner barcode. Attribute key and value pairs (noon's example is RAM = 16GB for a laptop) and feature bullets are recommended, not mandatory.

For the brand request side, including gated brands, see noon brand approval. Title and image standards are in the noon listing guide; this page stays on the upload mechanics.

How do you add images in bulk?

noon gives two methods:

  • Direct link. Paste direct image URLs into the sheet. noon says the links must end in ".JPEG".
  • Google Drive. Upload images to a new folder, set General Access to "Anyone with the link", copy the links in CSV format and paste them into the sheet, separated by commas.

noon also notes that each image must be in JPEG format for the sheet to upload successfully. Host images somewhere stable: if a link requires a login or has expired, the row fails or the image is rejected later. Image dimensions and rejection reasons are set out on noon's separate image-requirements page, which we have not reproduced here.

What are the limits on a noon bulk upload?

Two limits apply, and they are different things.

Per sheet. Up to 10,000 partner SKUs. If you have more, create an additional NIS sheet.

Per month. noon's listing policy sets a standard limit of 25,000 new products per month. How variants count:

Setup Counts as
One parent SKU with several sizes linked under it 1 product
A shirt in red, blue and green 3 products
Three independent, unlinked SKUs for the same item in different sizes 3 products

All three rows are from noon's quota table. To raise the limit, noon says to submit a ticket through the structured support option in Seller Lab; it bases increases on account performance, tenure, customer experience metrics and overall standing. noon does not publish a higher figure or a turnaround time on that page, so ask in the ticket.

For a worked example, take a UAE brand with 4,000 colour-and-size combinations. If it links sizes under parents and has 800 parent-and-colour groups, it consumes about 800 products of quota, not 4,000. If it uploads unlinked SKUs, it consumes 4,000. That is the practical reason to build variants properly.

How do you create size variants in one upload?

Variants need a parent and child structure in the sheet:

  1. Define a Parent Group Key and a Parent SKU on the first row.
  2. Give each child the same Parent Group Key and mark it as Child.
  3. Fill Size Variation and the Sizing Standard, then pick the closest "noon size" from the dropdown so size filters work.

The parent row carries family, product type, subtype, sizing standard, brand and image URLs. Child rows carry the Partner SKU Unique and the Size Variation. Parent Group Key and the parent/child variation go on both. The parent SKU needs no size variation, and the children take their content from the parent except size.

noon says it currently allows variants on the Size axis only in this upload. Colour and other axes go through its separate grouping process.

How do you find and fix noon import errors?

Valid rows create SKUs; invalid rows come back in an error file. To check:

  1. Go to Catalog, Imports, Content and find the "NIS Create/Update" import.
  2. Read the Status column: "Import processes" means the file was processed, "Report generated" means an error report is ready.
  3. Download the report, scroll to the rightmost columns for the issue per row, correct those rows and re-upload.
  4. Read the Mapping columns, which show how many products got a Seller SKU, how many are pending and how many errored.

Fix and re-upload only the failed rows: SKUs that already passed exist in your catalogue. If rows later come back rejected at content review, use noon listing rejection reasons.

Which upload channels does noon allow?

noon's listing policy lists four authorised channels for creating or updating SKUs: the Seller Lab interface (one SKU at a time), the NIS bulk upload, noon's public APIs, and integrations supported by noon. Anything else is a violation of the listing policy. Do not use scrapers or unofficial tools to push listings. Agencies and software vendors should route every request through one of the four. A listing-policy violation can feed into account health; see noon seller penalties.

Can you bulk update HS codes and country of origin?

Yes, for products you want in noon's cross-border lanes. noon's KSA guide describes Catalog, Imports, Add Import, type Content, subtype NIS-Create/Update, with only three columns: partner_sku, HS_code and country_of_origin. Upload and watch Imports History until the status shows Completed. noon's GCC guide says an HS code is mandatory on every product listing for those shipments, and that noon is not liable for customs delays caused by missing or incorrect codes. Why this matters for GCC sales is in noon's GCC cross-border lane.

FAQ

How long does a noon bulk upload take to go live? noon says the sheet is reviewed and published within three business days of upload. That is the published figure; individual SKUs can still be held at content review.

What file formats does noon accept for bulk upload? You can save the completed NIS sheet as CSV, TSV or XLS. Upload it under Catalog, then Imports, and confirm the upload. It then shows under Catalog, Imports, Content.

How many products can I upload to noon at once? Up to 10,000 partner SKUs per NIS sheet. Above that, create another sheet. Separately, the standard limit is 25,000 new products per month, which a ticket in Seller Lab can raise.

Can I bulk upload in Arabic? Yes. Download the English plus Arabic template and complete the EN and AR fields. noon says doing so increases visibility, and the English-only template is also available.

Do I need a GTIN for every product? The GTIN field is a key field used for inventory tracking and as the partner barcode. Barcode exemptions and rules for specific categories are on noon's barcode requirements page, linked from the listing policy, so check the category before you upload.

Can I bulk upload prices and stock too? The pages we read cover the content import only. noon's listing policy points to separate catalogue-management articles for stock and price, so use those rather than the NIS sheet for ongoing changes.

Can I use the API instead of the sheet? Yes. noon's public APIs are one of the four authorised channels in the listing policy, alongside the Seller Lab interface, the NIS upload and noon-supported integrations. Use it if you already run an ERP or catalogue system that can push data.

Getting a large catalogue live
