A noon rejection is not a judgement, it is a code. noon reviews every Seller SKU you submit and returns reasons in a fixed format — attribute, then issue — where the attribute is one of Categorization, Brand, Title, Image, or Feature Bullets and Description. Read the attribute and you know which screen to open; read the issue and you know what to change.

Noon Listing Rejected? Every Rejection Reason for Titles, Images, Video and Brands, and How to Fix It
By Blooprint team · Published 27 September 2026 · 8 min read
Key takeaways
- noon rejection reasons follow the format "attribute - issue", and split into fatal rejections that block the SKU and suggestions that only reduce its quality score.
- noon accepts product images in JPEG or JPG only, at a width of 660 pixels or more, an aspect ratio of at least 0.5, and a file size under 10 MB.
- noon's own title article gives two different limits, 5 to 200 characters in the rules and 20 to 160 in the examples, so build to the tighter pair.
- Saudi Arabia adds prohibitions the UAE does not have, including rainbow-coloured products and the keywords Christmas, Halloween and Easter in any listing field.

What catches Indian sellers is that noon has two classes of rejection. Fatal content rejections must be corrected for the SKU to go live. Suggestions for content improvement do not block approval but do drag down listing quality. Both appear in the same panel on the content page, so it pays to know which you are looking at. Everything below is from noon's own help centre, read on 27 September 2026.
How long does noon take to approve or reject a listing?
noon says it aims to decide within two business days of submission, and elsewhere describes the QC Pending state as "we'll get back to you within 2-3 business days". Status is shown separately for English and Arabic content, with four possible states each: Content Pending (you still owe content), QC Pending, Approved and Rejected. English is mandatory in both the UAE and KSA; Arabic is optional but an English-only SKU may be hidden from the Arabic site entirely, which is a visibility problem rather than a rejection.
Mandatory attribute completeness has to reach 100% before noon will even review the SKU. If completeness is stuck, you have a content-pending problem, not a rejection.
Why do noon titles get rejected?
Titles are the most rejected field. noon's requirements are strict and a few of them are counter-intuitive for anyone coming from Amazon.in or Flipkart:
- Include the product type. "Fully Automatic Front Loading 9 kg WW90K6410QX/GU Silver" fails; adding "Washing Machine" passes.
- Use camel casing, not capitals. Capitalise the first letter of each word except prepositions, conjunctions and articles. Genuine acronyms such as UAE, LED, UHD and HP may stay in capitals.
- No special characters such as @, ^, *, # or &.
- No repeated words, no promotional phrases, no prices, no shipping claims, no keyword stuffing.
- Do not put the brand name in the title. This surprises people. noon concatenates certain attributes onto the title on the front end — in apparel, the colour name value is auto-appended — so typing it yourself produces the duplication noon then rejects.
- The title must match the attributes, specifications, bullets, description and images. A title saying "polyester" against a specification saying "cotton" is a rejection; so is "Pack of 5" over an image showing four.
A contradiction in noon's own article, as of September 2026. The requirements list says "title should be between 5 and 200 characters long". The worked examples in the same article say "the title must not exceed 160 characters" and "the title should not be less than 20 characters". noon does not reconcile the two anywhere we could find, so build to the tighter pair — 20 to 160 characters — which satisfies both readings.
What are noon's image requirements, exactly?
| Requirement | noon's rule |
|---|---|
| File type | JPEG or JPG only |
| Width and aspect ratio | Width 660 pixels or more; width-to-height ratio 0.5 or more |
| Resolution | 72 PPI or higher |
| Maximum file size | 10 MB |
| Colour format | RGB or sRGB |
| Framing | 10% margin top and bottom for vertical shots, 5% each side for horizontal shots; product covering 70–80% of the frame |
| Background | Pure white for all categories except fashion, where light grey is recommended |
| How many | At least three high-quality images recommended |
The primary image carries extra rules. It must be a front view, outside any packaging — no boxes, bags, cases or swing tags — with light shadows only and no hard shadow or reflection, and no multiple views combined into one frame. Lifestyle shots are not allowed as the primary image but are fine as alternates. Smartphones and tablets are the exception: noon asks for a combined front and back view. Adult apparel should be shot on models rather than flat or on hangers, except swimwear and underwear; kids apparel is the reverse, flat lay or on hangers.
Common image rejection reasons and what they mean:
- Need product image without packaging — the primary shows the box or a tag.
- Cropped or half image — the primary cuts off part of the product. Close-ups belong in alternates.
- Low resolution — blurred, pixelated, stretched or distorted.
- Duplicate images — the same file uploaded more than once against one product.
- Conflicting images — a variant image that contradicts the title or another image.
- Needs editing — a border, frame, watermark, seller logo, price, warranty note, or a manufacturing or expiry date is visible. Trust marks such as Energy Star are allowed.
- Broken images — bad file name, invalid or expired URL, or a file too large to upload.
- Need other view — the image does not show the product clearly enough to identify it.
- Incorrect sequencing — noon wants front, back, side, other angles, details, then usage. An in-box accessories shot as image one fails.
CAD drawings, thumbnails and illustrations are not accepted; only photographs. Placeholders such as "image coming soon" are rejected. One useful recent change: noon now accepts Google Drive links in the image URL columns of the upload template, as long as sharing is set to anyone with the link — but it does not resize or reformat, so the file still has to meet every rule above before you generate the link. Rebuilding an image set to these rules is routine work on our noon account management service, because it is cheaper than losing a season to a rejection loop.
Why was my product video rejected?
Video is still a phased rollout: noon says if you cannot see the Add video button in Seller Lab, your account is not yet activated, and you can instead raise a seller support ticket titled "Video Upload Request – SKU XXXXXXXXX" with the file attached, with a turnaround of one to two business days once it passes QC.
| Specification | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Formats | MP4, MOV or WEBM, MP4 recommended |
| Resolution | 1080p or better recommended, 480p minimum |
| File size | 5 GB maximum, 10 MB optimal |
| Duration | 2.5 minutes maximum, 30 seconds optimal |
| Language | English or Arabic only |
noon publishes named rejection codes for video, including inconsistent_video_content (the video shows a different model, colour, size or accessories), invalid_video_content (external links, contact details, customer reviews, social media, time-sensitive promotions, warranty or shipping claims, or audio in a third language), banned_products_copyright (unlicensed music or footage) and inappropriate_offensive_language. Only one brand logo may appear on screen at a time. Health claims are tightly policed: no "cures" language, and weight-loss claims must carry the healthy diet and exercise caveat.
Why do brands get rejected on noon?
noon allows listings only from verified brands. You may create Seller SKUs as soon as you request a brand, but they go live only after approval. The request needs the brand name in both English and Arabic, a brand website link and a logo; if you have no website, noon accepts social media or similar pages as authentication. A rejection is usually a verification gap, and noon's instruction is to resubmit under the exact same brand name with additional links. Once approved, you cannot change the English or Arabic brand name yourself — that needs support.
Which products will noon never approve?
This is the section where Indian marketplace experience actively misleads. noon's prohibited list runs well beyond the obvious and includes mobile signal boosters, amplifiers and repeaters; GPS vehicle tracking devices; 2G-only telecom equipment (a TDRA restriction in the UAE); jammers, SIM boxes and wireless scanners; goods bearing Israel marks, logos or flag; goods intended to be imported from boycotted countries; anything containing ingredients from WWF endangered-listed animals; home-made foods; adult products and male-enhancement products; alcohol and anything mentioning it; tobacco; and printed or decorative material that contradicts Islamic teachings.
Saudi Arabia adds its own prohibitions on top:
- Rainbow-coloured products.
- Non-Islamic religious symbols, sacred figures or scriptures — noon names crosses, rosaries, the Star of David, Buddha statues and Hindu deity idols.
- Christmas trees, and the keywords "Christmas", "Merry Christmas", "Halloween" and "Easter" in titles, descriptions, tags or imagery.
- Electronic items and pens with a concealed camera.
Egypt separately prohibits drones, with or without a camera, including toys. noon also maintains keyword lists, including pharmaceutical terms banned by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, and named rejection reasons such as "Banned Products - Religious Products" and "Banned Products - Politically Offensive". Our GTIN glossary entry covers the identifier side; barcodes are separately mandatory for both FBN and FBP, may be custom alphanumeric up to 16 characters, and cannot be deleted once assigned.
A workflow that stops the rejection loop
Fix the template, not the SKU. Every rejection you receive is a rule that will reject the next hundred listings too, so encode it: one title pattern per category with the product type in it and the brand left out, one image checklist at 1,500 pixels on white, an Arabic title column that is never optional, and a banned-keyword screen run before upload rather than after. Then resubmit from the content tab, where each rejection reason carries a recommendation link straight to the field. If you would rather hand the catalogue over, that is what our noon account management service does — and on the fee side, noon seller fees explained shows what each approved listing then costs you per sale.
FAQ
How long does noon take to review a listing? noon aims to approve or reject within two business days of submission, and describes the QC Pending state as two to three business days. If nothing has moved after that, contact seller support from the SKU detail page.
What is the noon title character limit? noon's article gives two answers — 5 to 200 characters in its rules and 20 to 160 in its examples. Build to 20 to 160 characters, which satisfies both.
Can I put my brand name in the noon title? No. noon concatenates certain attributes onto the title on the front end, so including the brand or an auto-appended attribute such as colour produces duplication and a word-repetition rejection.
Why is my image rejected when it looks fine? Check the mechanical rules first: JPEG or JPG only, width 660 pixels or more, aspect ratio 0.5 or more, under 10 MB, RGB, and no border, watermark, price or date anywhere in the frame.
Can I sell the same catalogue in the UAE and Saudi Arabia? Not always. KSA prohibits items the UAE allows, including rainbow-coloured products, non-Islamic religious items and the keywords Christmas, Halloween and Easter. Screen the KSA assortment separately.
My brand request was rejected. What now? Resubmit under the exact same brand name with more verification links — a website, or social media pages if you have no website. noon shows the rejection reason on the Brand Management screen.
