How to Sell on Noon from India (UAE and KSA) in 2026: Routes, VAT, Fulfilment and Payouts

By Blooprint team ยท Published 24 September 2026 ยท 12 min read

Key takeaways

  • Indian businesses can sell on noon UAE and KSA without a Gulf trade licence through the noon Global Store, which registers you as a non-VAT seller and pays you in USD.
  • A UAE or KSA trade licence route gives you local FBN and Directship options but needs a VAT number in KSA and a UAE VAT certificate as an international seller.
  • English content is mandatory on every listing; Arabic is optional but noon warns a single-language SKU may be hidden from the Arabic site.
  • noon issues statements every Wednesday and pays the following Thursday, with a 1,000 AED or SAR minimum for bank accounts held in another currency.

noon is the largest home-grown marketplace in the Gulf, with storefronts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. As of September 2026 an Indian business has three realistic ways in: the noon Global Store, which is a cross-border programme built for Indian sellers; a company of your own registered in the UAE or KSA; or an aggregator or partner that already holds a local licence and lists on your behalf. Each route changes what documents you need, whether you pay VAT, how your stock moves and how money reaches India. This guide walks through all of it, using noon's own help centre pages, and links to our noon fees guide for the numbers.

Where noon publishes a rule we quote it; where it does not, we say so. Pages checked 24 September 2026.

Who can sell on noon?

noon's document page splits sellers into three groups. A Local Seller is "your company, is registered in the country you wish to sell". An International Seller is one whose "company is not registered in the country you wish to sell". An Individual Seller exists only in Egypt, using a Data Certificate; noon notes that individual registration in KSA using freelance certificates "is currently suspended" because those certificates cover services, not e-commerce trading.

Whichever group you fall in, your licence "must authorize trading, selling, or manufacturing activities"; "licenses limited to service provision are not accepted". Each document set can be used for one account only, and the ID must belong to the person named on the licence or come with a power of attorney.

For a business registered in India there is a fourth, dedicated door: the noon Global Store, described on noon's help centre as "a streamlined opportunity for Indian sellers to expand their business into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)". Cross-border selling on noon is "restricted only to UAE and KSA as of now", so Egypt is out of scope for Indian sellers.

Which route should you take: Global Store, your own trade licence, or a partner?

Route What you need Where stock sits VAT position Best for
noon Global Store (cross-border from India) Indian GST, IEC, PAN, LUT, AD code, passport, trade licence or business proof, a bank account that can receive USD You drop-ship each order to noon's consolidation centre in India; noon moves it to a free-zone warehouse in the UAE or KSA Registered as non-VAT; noon collects and remits customer VAT Brands testing the Gulf with light, non-fragile goods under 2 kg
Your own UAE or KSA company Local trade licence (mainland or free zone), VAT certificate, ID, local business bank account Local FBN warehouse or your own warehouse (Directship) You register for VAT and file returns Brands committing stock and budget to the region
International seller (company outside the Gulf) Trade licence from any country, UAE or KSA VAT certificate, passport, Payoneer or Lian Lian account letter FBN warehouse after you import the stock yourself Non-resident VAT registration in the UAE or KSA Exporters who already have a customs broker and VAT agent
Aggregator or licensed partner A contract with a company that holds the licence and the noon account Partner's warehouse or FBN under the partner's account Partner's VAT registration Brands that want speed and are willing to share margin and account control

A caution on the third row. noon's general cross-border article says "Non-VAT registered sellers cannot do the cross border business" and asks for the VAT certificate of the destination country. The India-specific Global Store page says the opposite for its own programme: "VAT registration is not mandatory for noon Global Stores in either the UAE or KSA. Indian sellers will be registered as non-VAT sellers while selling through the cross-border program." Both are correct; they describe different programmes. If you are Indian and want the no-VAT route, you must be on the Global Store, not the generic international seller flow.

The aggregator route is not documented by noon; it is a commercial arrangement. The noon account, reviews and sales history belong to the partner, so treat it as a test, not a permanent structure.

Do you need a UAE trade licence and VAT registration?

Not for the Global Store. For any other route, yes. For a local UAE seller noon asks for a trade licence with at least 15 days' validity, Emirates ID or passport, and business bank details; VAT registration is optional in the UAE, and you can pick "Non-VAT Registered" while creating your Legal Entity. For KSA it is stricter: "all sellers operating in KSA must provide a valid VAT registration number", because invoices without one attract scrutiny from ZATCA, the Saudi tax authority.

Licence costs are set by each emirate and free zone and change often, so we will not quote a figure. Budget for the licence, a registered office, a UAE bank account (which takes longer than the licence) and any visa, and get written quotes from two or three free zones.

VAT itself is 5% in the UAE and 15% in KSA. If you run your own company you charge it to customers and file returns. On the Global Store noon "collects the applicable VAT in both the UAE and KSA and pays it directly to the relevant authorities"; only the VAT on noon's marketplace fees shows on your invoice, at 5% for the UAE and 15% for KSA. On the India side you raise a zero-rated export invoice under your LUT. noon's page also warns that on any return, "Import VAT, customs and shipping charges will be a non-recoverable cost" for a non-resident seller, so returns cost more on this route than a local seller pays.

What documents does the noon Global Store ask for?

noon lists two sets. For creating the Seller Lab account: GST certificate or non-resident VAT certificate, bank account details, warehouse allocation, a passport copy "of the same person on the GST certificate", and a trade licence or equivalent business document. For order processing: GST certificate, Letter of Undertaking (LUT) copy, Authorised Dealer code copy, Importer Exporter Code (IEC) copy and PAN copy.

The activation flow is four steps: create the store; add the Legal Entity, selecting non-VAT registered and entering your GSTIN; link the approved Legal Entity to a bank account that "should be compatible with receiving payments in USD"; then sign the terms and conditions. noon reviews the Legal Entity again after signing. On the generic cross-border page noon says Legal Entity approval "will be completed within 24-48 hours"; the India page gives no timeline, so plan for a week to be safe.

Do you need GTINs, and must listings be in Arabic?

noon uses the GTIN as the partner barcode in its bulk SKU creation template, and its brand-creation guidelines expect a real brand with a trademark or authorisation. If your products already carry EAN-13 barcodes for Amazon.in or Flipkart, reuse them. If they do not, buy GS1 India codes before you start cataloguing;

For the Global Store, noon adds three mandatory fields: Country of Origin, an 8-digit HSN code per product uploaded through the Global Product Importer "as required by the Customs Authority regulations", and a USD price uploaded through the Global Price Importer with the country code AE or SA. The price_usd field "is the selling price in USD without VAT/GST"; noon converts it to AED or SAR on site.

On language, noon is explicit: "All of your Seller SKUs have to have English content", and English content must be approved before the product goes live. Arabic is optional in both the UAE and KSA, but noon adds that "if you only provide English content for a product being sold on the UAE website, that product might only get shown on the English website and be hidden from the Arabic one". noon does not translate for you. Write at least the Arabic title and bullets and have a native speaker check them; machine translation of fabric names and sizes hurts conversion.

Eligibility rules for Global Store products are tight: "Items should not be fragile or dangerous goods", volumetric or actual weight "should not be more than 2kg", and nothing prohibited or restricted in the UAE or KSA. Perfume, aerosols and lithium batteries usually fall foul of the dangerous-goods rule.

FBN, Directship or cross-border: which fulfilment model?

Fulfilled by noon (FBN) means you send stock to a noon warehouse and noon stores, picks, packs, ships, handles customer queries and processes returns. FBN items carry the noon Express badge on site, which customers can filter by, and noon promises shipping "within as little as 24-hours". noon claims FBN listings see a "60% higher conversion rate" and get "exclusive access to run daily deals"; that is noon's figure, not ours.

Fulfilled by Partner (FBP), often called Directship, keeps stock in your own warehouse. You pack, noon collects (or you drop at a noon hub) and delivers. In the UAE the Directship outbound fee starts at 14 AED per shipment for pickup or 12 AED for drop-off on a parcel up to 250 g, and noon reimburses the shipping fee it charges the customer, "up to a maximum of 10 AED per order", on orders under 100 AED. This route needs a local company and a local warehouse, so it is not open to Global Store sellers.

Cross-border (Global Store) works differently. "Sellers are required to drop-ship their products to our consolidation centre in India"; noon then handles the international leg, customs and last mile. Indian sellers "will come on the FBP (Fulfilled by Partner) module" in the system, but stock that lands in noon's free-zone warehouse "will be treated the same as local FBN WH. Rates and charges will remain the same as noon FBN rate card". Returns are checked at the free-zone warehouse; saleable units are relisted, non-saleable stock "can either be liquidated at a pre-agreed rate card or returned to the partner". noon integrates through order management systems "such as Unicommerce, Increff etc.".

What noon has not published for the India programme is the cross-border shipping charge per unit. Ask for it in writing during onboarding and model it before you set USD prices. For the referral fee, FBN outbound and storage numbers that do apply, see our noon seller fees guide.

How do payouts reach India?

noon generates a statement every Wednesday covering delivered orders, new customer returns, marketplace fees and any penalties. It pays weekly if the statement is positive and you clear the minimum threshold. The threshold is 100 AED or SAR when your bank account is in the marketplace currency, and "1,000 AED / SAR" when it is in another currency, which is the case for a Global Store seller paid in USD. Below the threshold, funds roll into the next cycle. For the UAE and KSA, "Payouts are processed on Thursday of the following week", and the money "will appear in your bank account within 1 to 2 business days from the due date". Disputes on a statement must be raised within 15 days.

For Indian sellers, "noon settles all payments in the USD", from its UAE or KSA entity, into the account linked to your noon India store. Any charge levied by your receiving bank "will be charged to the seller directly". Keep the FIRC or bank advice for each remittance for your LUT and GST refund records.

How long does it take, and what does it cost to start?

noon does not publish an end-to-end onboarding time for Indian sellers. Working back from its pages and our own experience, plan as follows.

Stage Global Store from India Own UAE or KSA company
Paperwork you must already hold GST, IEC, PAN, LUT, AD code: 1 to 3 weeks if you lack any Trade licence 1 to 2 weeks; bank account 2 to 6 weeks; VAT registration after that
noon Legal Entity approval 24 to 48 hours per noon's cross-border page; allow a week Same
Cataloguing (NIS sheet, HSN, USD prices, Arabic) 1 to 2 weeks for 50 to 100 SKUs Same, without the HSN and USD steps
First stock live After first orders are dropped at the consolidation centre and cleared After FBN inbound appointment and receipt
Upfront platform fees None listed on the pages we read; you pay per sale None from noon; licence, office and VAT agent costs are yours

On per-sale costs, the headline numbers as of September 2026 are a referral fee by category (27% on apparel and footwear, 5% to 15% on most electronics, minimum 1 AED or SAR per item), an FBN outbound fee from 5.5 AED or SAR per unit, and storage at 1.5 AED or 2.5 SAR per cubic foot per month, rising to 1.75 AED and 2.75 SAR on 1 October 2026. VAT at 5% or 15% is added to those fees.

What mistakes do Indian sellers make on noon?

  • Listing in English only, then wondering why Arabic-language shoppers never see the product.
  • Pricing in USD by converting the Indian MRP, without adding the referral fee, FBN fee, cross-border shipping and the 5% or 15% VAT on fees.
  • Sending fragile or over-2 kg items into the Global Store, which noon excludes.
  • Uploading a passport that does not match the name on the GST certificate.
  • Ignoring the 1,000 AED or SAR threshold and assuming a weekly payout when sales are small.
  • Skipping the KSA warranty step; "All items need to meet KSA Saudi requirements by law" and warranty must be enabled per noon's guidelines.

Most of these are the same discipline problems we see on Indian marketplaces; if your Amazon account health is tidy, the habits carry over. If not, our noon account management team fixes them before launch.

FAQ

Can I sell on noon from India without a UAE company? Yes. The noon Global Store lets an Indian GST-registered business sell in the UAE and KSA as a non-VAT seller, drop-shipping orders to noon's consolidation centre in India and being paid in USD.

Do I need VAT registration in the UAE or KSA? Not on the Global Store; noon collects and remits customer VAT. If you set up your own company, VAT is optional for a UAE local seller but mandatory for every seller in KSA.

Does noon charge a registration or monthly fee? The help-centre pages we read list no registration or subscription charge. Costs are per sale: referral fee, fulfilment fee, storage and VAT on fees.

Must my listings be in Arabic? English is mandatory and must be approved before a SKU goes live. Arabic is optional, but noon says English-only SKUs may be hidden from the Arabic site, so add at least an Arabic title.

How and when does noon pay Indian sellers? Statements are generated every Wednesday and paid the following Thursday, in USD, once your balance clears 1,000 AED or SAR. Funds arrive one to two business days later, less any receiving-bank charges.

What products are excluded from the Global Store? Fragile goods, dangerous goods, anything over 2 kg actual or volumetric weight, and anything prohibited or restricted in the UAE or KSA.

Getting help with noon

The Gulf is a good market for Indian brands with the right product and pricing, but the setup has more moving parts than a domestic marketplace. If you would rather have a team run it, from Legal Entity approval and NIS cataloguing to FBN inbound, weekly statement reconciliation and ads, see our noon account management service. We will tell you honestly whether the Global Store or a local entity fits your volumes before you spend anything on a licence.
