noon runs a separate programme for pre-owned devices. Renewed means lightly used or open-box stock that is tested and cleaned, with original OEM parts, battery health of 85% or more and a 12-month seller warranty. Refurbished means a device repaired or rebuilt with new OEM-grade parts, with a 6-month seller warranty. To join, you need to be a registered business with at least 12 months of operating history. These rules are as published by noon as of October 2026. Read the fees and the warranty-cost risk below before you buy stock.

What is the difference between renewed and refurbished on noon?
noon's rule is simple: if you replaced a major part, it is not Renewed. Renewed devices "must not be rebuilt or repaired"; screen, body and battery stay original OEM.
| Renewed | Refurbished | |
|---|---|---|
| Definition | Lightly used, AS-IS or open-box, tested and cleaned | Repaired or rebuilt to factory standard with new OEM-grade parts |
| Parts | Original OEM only, no replacements | New OEM-grade parts where needed |
| Battery | Health 85% or more, not replaced | 100% new OEM-grade battery |
| Seller warranty | 12 months | 6 months |
| Packaging | Clean box with compatible charger and accessories | Clean white or brown box with accessories |
| QC report | Accurate QC documentation before stock moves or an ASN is created | Mandatory, showing components replaced and test results |
Source for the table: noon's renewed and refurbished definitions.
Check this first. noon says non-compliance, for example listing refurbished stock as renewed, may result in penalties or account suspension. When in doubt about a unit, grade it down.
Which grades can you list?
noon's definitions page lists three renewed grades: CPO (Certified Pre-Owned, factory certified or sealed by the brand, with a 12-month brand warranty), Renewed Premium (like new, no scratches or dents) and Renewed Max (lightly used, minor signs of use, battery of 85% or more). The page gives the shortcut: CPO is factory sealed, Premium is open box or demo, Max is lightly used but fully functional.
The eligibility guide uses a different set of three tiers: Premium, Max and Refurb Value, the last meaning fully functional with visible cosmetic imperfections. The two pages do not match, and the Refurb Value tier sits awkwardly beside the definitions page's rule that refurbished units must look 100% like new. Ask Seller Support which tiers are live in your category before you grade a pallet. Whatever you choose, stay consistent: noon asks for grading consistency across all listings.
Who can sell renewed or refurbished on noon?
noon states you must meet all of these:
- Be a legally registered business entity.
- Have a minimum of 12 months of operational history.
- Show credible market presence and operational capability.
- Comply with local laws and keep sourcing and inventory transparent.
noon says it may prefer sellers with refurbishment or recommerce experience, a repair or QA set-up, experience with serialised inventory (IMEI or serial tracking) and existing warranty and customer support processes. Businesses under 12 months old, those who cannot show sourcing documents and those with unresolved authenticity concerns may not qualify.
If you do not yet have a normal noon account, start with noon seller registration for a UAE company. The programme is an extra layer on top of it.
What documents do you have to submit?
At onboarding noon asks for three groups of documents:
- Stock invoices or proof of purchase showing supplier details, quantities and models, purchase dates and an ownership trail.
- Supplier and sourcing information: supplier names, procurement channels and refurbishment source if applicable.
- Trade license and company documents: a valid trade license, company registration certificate and a company profile.
noon says submitting documents does not guarantee approval, more verification may be requested at any stage, and sellers can be audited periodically. Non-compliance can lead directly to listing removal or account suspension. noon does not publish a decision time for programme applications, so do not buy stock until you have approval in writing.
What quality checks are required?
Every unit needs a documented inspection. The checklist covers function, display and touchscreen, camera, speaker, microphone and ports, connectivity, battery health and charging, cosmetic condition, and lock status and account removal.
Before shipment you must:
- Factory reset every device and remove user accounts and activation locks, so no customer data remains.
- Keep IMEI or serial number records for every unit that exactly match your inventory and listing.
- Prevent duplicate or blacklisted devices being listed, and share the records on request.
Devices failing activation or lock checks may be rejected, and failing traceability may lead to listing suspension. Keep QC records, because noon says they may be requested in future audits.
What does it cost: FBN referral fees in the UAE?
noon publishes a separate FBN fee annex for renewed and refurbished items in the UAE. The annex says its fees apply from 1 July 2023, exclude VAT and are charged per unit. The referral fee is a percentage of the sale price.
| Category | Unopened or CPO | Renewed or refurbished |
|---|---|---|
| Mobiles and tablets | 5.00% | 10.00% |
| Laptops | 8.00% | 11.00% |
| Cameras | 8.00% | 10.00% |
| Audio and video | 6.00% | 8.00% |
| Wearables | 7.00% | 10.00% |
| Other accessories | 12.00% | 15.00% |
| Software and accessories (gaming) | 12.00% | 14.50% |
| Consoles | 7.00% | 9.50% |
The same annex lists FBN outbound fees by size and weight, for example AED 9.50 for a standard parcel over 0.50 kg up to 1.0 kg. Check the live annex before pricing, since noon updates these pages. The full fee structure for new goods is in noon seller fees explained.
Worked example: a renewed phone sold with FBN
Illustrative only, using the published rates. You sell a renewed phone for AED 1,500 through FBN. At the 10.00% renewed rate the referral fee is AED 150. The outbound fee for a standard parcel in the 0.50 kg to 1.0 kg slab is AED 9.50. Together that is AED 159.50 before VAT, storage and returns, or about 10.6% of the price. If your purchase cost and QC cost add up to AED 1,250, the margin left is roughly AED 90.50 before VAT effects, advertising and warranty cost. That is thin, so model returns and warranty before committing.
What does a warranty claim cost you?
All renewed and refurbished stock must be listed under Seller Warranty unless it comes direct from the brand with official warranty. When the warranty is provided by a noon authorised service centre, noon's rate card sets an inspection fee and a repair fee by device and price band, excluding VAT. Its example is a AED 4,500 phone with an AED 720 repair level: if the real repair cost goes above AED 720, the repair does not proceed, the customer gets a full AED 4,500 refund, and the seller pays the order value and a AED 12 inspection fee.
That is the biggest hidden risk in this programme. A batch with a high fault rate loses the sale price on each failed repair. The rules for claims, 14-day timelines and disputes are in noon warranty requirements.
FAQ
Can I sell used phones on noon UAE? Only through noon's Renewed or Refurbished programme, which needs approval. You must be a registered business with at least 12 months of operating history, show sourcing documents and pass QC and traceability rules.
What warranty must I give on renewed devices on noon? noon's definitions page requires a 12-month seller warranty on Renewed devices, and says each SKU must mention the warranty period on the product page. Refurbished devices need a 6-month seller warranty.
Can I list a repaired phone as renewed? No. noon says not to list repaired, reassembled or refurbished devices as Renewed, and says the battery must not be replaced. A unit with replaced parts belongs in Refurbished, with a QC report showing what changed.
What is the noon referral fee on refurbished laptops in the UAE? For FBN, noon's UAE annex lists 11.00% for renewed or refurbished laptops and 8.00% for unopened or CPO laptops, excluding VAT. The annex applies from 1 July 2023, so confirm the current version in the help center.
Do I need a trade license to sell refurbished on noon? Yes. noon asks for a valid trade license, company registration certificate and company profile, plus stock invoices and supplier details. Individuals without a registered business are not eligible for this programme.
Do I need to wipe data on devices I sell? Yes. noon requires a factory reset, removal of user accounts and activation locks, and no residual customer data before shipment. Units that fail activation or lock checks may be rejected.
How long does approval to sell renewed on noon take? noon does not publish a timeline. It says submitting documents does not guarantee approval and further verification may be requested. Ask Seller Support for an expected date in writing, and see noon seller support contacts.
What to do next
Gather your invoices, supplier trail and trade license, write a one-page grading and QC procedure that matches noon's tables, and model the fee and warranty example above for your own stock. If you also sell through Amazon.ae, keep your grading language consistent across both. Blooprint, an Amazon SPN verified partner, can run your noon account management once you are approved. Avoid counterfeit risk by reading the noon anti-counterfeit policy guide.
