Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) is Amazon's service for sales outside Amazon: MCF extends many of the benefits of FBA to your other sales channels. You send inventory to an Amazon fulfilment centre, and Amazon picks, packs and ships orders as they come in. Fees below are in Australian dollars excluding GST, as of October 2026. This is general information, not tax advice.
How does MCF work for an Australian seller?
Amazon describes MCF for omnichannel selling across social media platforms, e-commerce platforms and your own website. So a seller with a Shopify store can hold one pool of stock for Amazon.com.au and for direct orders. The Amazon page does not mention branded packaging, so check Seller Central before promising customers anything on the box.
Standard FBA rules still apply to the stock itself. For the Amazon-side mechanics see Amazon MCF in Australia and Amazon FBA in Australia.
What does MCF cost?
Amazon's pricing page lists sample MCF fees for standard, expedited and priority delivery:
| Size (all excl. GST; source: https://sell.amazon.com.au/pricing) | Standard | Expedited | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small envelope | A$7.06 | A$8.47 | A$10.59 |
| Standard envelope | A$7.39 | A$8.87 | A$11.09 |
| Parcel, 0 to 250 g | A$8.81 | A$10.57 | A$13.22 |
| Parcel, 1,501 to 2,000 g | A$16.80 | A$20.17 | A$25.21 |
All excl. GST. Amazon adds an MCF surcharge for Tasmania and the Northern Territory of A$7.50 per unit for non-oversize and A$20.00 for oversize. Selected FBA and MCF fulfilment fees were reduced effective 10 June 2026 and other fees remain unchanged at this time. Storage is charged on top; see Amazon Australia storage fees.
For example (illustrative): one 200 g parcel on standard delivery costs A$8.81 excluding GST in fulfilment fees, before storage and before your own product and payment costs.
What are the limits?
FBA does not service remote postcodes 2898, 2899, 4875, 6798 and 6799, and the page says the restrictions also apply to MCF. Amazon's wording that MCF restrictions would apply "later in 2023" is dated, so check the live position. The full rate card, including multi-unit discounts, sits in Seller Central help pages, not on a public page.
What about tax and imports?
Sales through your own site still count towards your GST turnover, so add them to the A$75,000 test. If the stock comes from overseas, see import declarations. Products still need valid identifiers; see GTIN exemption.
