Myntra does not onboard sellers the way Amazon or Flipkart do. You apply on the Partner Portal, Myntra's category team reviews your brand, and only approved brands get commercial terms, a catalogue slot and purchase orders. As of September 2026 Myntra publishes the steps and the business models but not the approval criteria, the timeline or the commission. This guide sets out what Myntra has put in writing, what its own seller deck says about the two models, what third-party guides and our own onboarding work say about timelines and rejections, and what happens between approval and your first order. Myntra Seller Onboarding 2026: Brand Approval, Documents, Timeline and What Happens After
By Blooprint team · Published 25 September 2026 · 8 min read
Key takeaways
- Myntra is invitation-by-approval: every application is reviewed as a brand first, and third-party guides put approval at 15 to 45 business days or longer.
- Brand owners upload a trademark certificate or application; resellers need a brand authorisation letter or NOC, and missing paperwork is the fastest route to rejection.
- Myntra charges no onboarding fee or deposit, but a one-time growth enablement charge applies once a new seller starts operating.
- Payments run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on a D+15 cycle from customer delivery, on both the PPMP marketplace and Myntra-fulfilled models.

How does Myntra brand approval work?
Myntra describes itself to prospective partners as a curated fashion, beauty and lifestyle platform. In practice that means the application is evaluated as a brand, not as a seller. One 2026 onboarding guide puts it plainly: Myntra "treats every new seller as a brand application first, and a marketplace listing second".
The flow on partners.myntrainfo.com is:
- Register with mobile and business email OTP; the email becomes your login.
- Fill the application: business details, GSTIN verification, categories, brand information. Fields are cross-checked against uploaded documents.
- Upload documents (list below).
- Wait for review. Fashion and lifestyle categories go through a brand-quality review, not only a compliance check: someone looks at your imagery, price positioning and range.
- If approved, commercials are agreed and the contract signed; Myntra's deck says "once your commercials are finalised and contract is signed, the technical integration will get you ready to onboard your articles".
There is no public rubric. From the applications we have prepared, the questions a Myntra category manager is answering are: does this brand fill a gap in my category at a price band I need; is the range deep enough to merchandise (a handful of SKUs rarely gets through); do the images and size data already look like Myntra; and can this seller ship on time at the volumes an event like End of Reason Sale creates.
Trademark and category fit
Myntra's application asks whether you are the brand owner or a reseller. Brand owners upload a trademark certificate; a TM application acknowledgement is usually accepted where the registration is pending. Resellers upload a No Objection Certificate or brand authorisation letter from the brand owner. Third-party guides agree that a registered trademark is "not always mandatory, but it strengthens a brand application considerably and can speed up the review", and that missing or informal authorisation for a resold brand "is one of the fastest ways to get an application rejected outright".
Category fit is the other gate. Myntra lists fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty, home and lifestyle as its categories. A product that belongs on a grocery or electronics marketplace will not be approved however clean the paperwork.
What documents does Myntra need?
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| GST certificate | Legal name must match PAN and bank exactly; verified before the rest of the form unlocks |
| Business PAN | Entity PAN, not the proprietor's personal PAN unless you are a proprietorship |
| Identity proof of signatory | Aadhaar or other government ID |
| Business registration proof | Incorporation certificate, partnership deed or Udyam, depending on entity type |
| Trademark certificate or application | For brand owners |
| Brand authorisation letter or NOC | For resellers and distributors, on the brand owner's letterhead |
| Cancelled cheque | Current account in the business name |
| Address proof | Registered office and warehouse |
| Additional state GST | If your stock will sit in a Myntra warehouse in another state under the Myntra-fulfilled model |
Myntra's FAQ text states that it "does not charge any onboarding fee or refundable deposit from sellers", and that "a one time growth enablement charge is applicable for new sellers on Myntra platform once the sellers start operating". The amount is not published; it appears in your commercial terms.
Does Myntra ask for exclusivity?
Not as a published condition. Myntra's seller deck and portal say nothing about exclusivity, and most brands on Myntra also sell on Ajio, Nykaa Fashion and their own sites. Exclusivity does come up in two situations: launch programmes for new D2C brands, where Myntra has offered zero-commission windows to brands it wants to build, and category deals where a brand gives Myntra a first or exclusive drop of a collection in return for visibility. Both are negotiated, not standard. If a category manager raises exclusivity, ask what visibility and event participation is committed in return, and for how long.
Why does Myntra reject brands?
Myntra rarely gives a detailed reason. From third-party guides and our own experience, the causes group into four:
- Documentation gaps. Name mismatches across GST, PAN and bank; expired or missing trademark or authorisation; a personal email that Myntra's team deprioritises against registered-domain addresses.
- Wrong model or readiness. Choosing a model you cannot operate. The marketplace model needs thermal printers, 4x6 inch barcode labels, a scanner and Myntra-approved packaging; the deck lists these as "pre requisites for operational readiness".
- Catalogue depth and presentation. Too few styles, images that do not meet Myntra's photography standards, missing size charts. The review looks at "product photography, pricing positioning, and brand presentation".
- Category and price fit. A saturated sub-category, or price points that do not fit the band Myntra is short of.
A rejection is not always final. Reapplying after fixing the named issue (or the obvious one) works when the brand itself is a fit. Reapplying with the same documents does not.
How long does Myntra onboarding take?
Myntra does not publish a timeline. Third-party guides report "15 to 45 business days and more", and a September 2026 guide says "a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on your category and how ready your documentation is". Agencies that sell onboarding quote 15 to 20 days for a clean established brand. Our planning figure for a new brand is six to ten weeks from application to first live listing, with the review itself the largest block and the catalogue stage the second.
What happens after Myntra approval?
Commercials and model
You pick one or both of Myntra's models. Its "Sell with Myntra" deck describes them:
| Model | Who stores and packs | What Myntra does | Myntra's stated benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| PPMP (Pure Play Marketplace) | You, at your own premises, using Myntra paper packaging from approved vendors | Logistics for order fulfilment and returns | "Complete control over pricing, discounting, growth & scalability" |
| MSA (Myntra Smart Assist) | Myntra, from its warehouses; you inward stock | Seller QC, packaging and fulfilment | "Faster customer delivery resulting in faster payments", "better quality checks leading to reduced defect rates", inventory moved closer to customers before events |
| Omni channel | Your stores | Routes orders to your nearest store | Lower cancellations and dispatch time |
The deck says both models share the "same commission, logistic charges, claims process in case of dispute", the same forward and reverse flow and the same reports. Stock held by Myntra under MSA is on a sale-or-return basis: it stays your inventory until sold, and unsold stock can be pulled back. Third-party guides also describe a just-in-time purchase-order flow, where Myntra groups customer orders and raises one PO for the seller to ship into its hub; treat that as a variant your category manager may or may not offer.
Catalogue and shoot
Cataloguing follows Myntra's guidelines on Partner University, which opens after onboarding: "understand cataloging guidelines", "upload catalog on Partner Portal", "get your catalog approved by Myntra", then "upload inventory to get started". Imagery is either shot by you to Myntra's specification (model shots, set backgrounds, specified angles and resolution) or through a Myntra-empanelled studio at your cost. Catalogue QC rejections for missing attributes, wrong size charts or off-spec images are the most common reason a brand is approved but not live a month later.
Integration and payments
Inventory and orders run through M-Direct, Myntra's free OMS, or a third-party OMS such as Unicommerce or Increff over API. Payments "process every Monday, Wednesday & Friday at a D + 15 cycle (D = Delivery date to customer)".
Worked example: a Rs 1,499 kurta set is delivered to the customer on Thursday 1 October 2026. D+15 is Friday 16 October, which is a payment day, so the settlement lands in that run, net of Myntra's commission, logistics charges and any customer return processed before then. If the return window is still open, the return can still be deducted from a later cycle. Plan working capital on 15 to 20 days from delivery, not from dispatch.
Which account metrics does Myntra track?
Myntra publishes no seller rating formula or thresholds. Its deck lists "operational reports & data insights" as part of both models, and the metrics shown in the Partner Portal are the ones every fashion marketplace uses: on-time dispatch against the promised SLA, seller cancellations, customer return rate by style, quality-check failures at the hub, and rating and review scores. Third-party guides add that sellers missing the benchmarks "may face penalties or could be excluded from the platform". Myntra's return rates are high by marketplace standards because of size and fit, so the metrics that matter most are dispatch timeliness and cancellation rate, which you control, and return rate by style, which size charts and imagery control.
FAQ
How long does Myntra take to approve a seller? Myntra publishes no timeline. Guides report 15 to 45 business days, sometimes longer; plan six to ten weeks from application to first live listing for a new brand.
Is a trademark mandatory to sell on Myntra? Not formally, but brand owners are expected to upload a trademark certificate or application, and resellers must have a brand authorisation letter or NOC. Applications without either are usually rejected.
Does Myntra charge an onboarding fee? No. Myntra states it charges no onboarding fee or refundable deposit. A one-time growth enablement charge applies once a new seller starts operating; the amount is in your commercial terms.
Can I sell on Myntra without a registered company? You need a GST-registered business: proprietorship, partnership, LLP or company. Individuals without GST are not eligible.
What is the difference between PPMP and MSA on Myntra? Under PPMP you store and pack; Myntra ships. Under MSA your stock sits in Myntra's warehouse and Myntra picks, packs and ships. Commission, logistics charges and payment cycle are the same on both.
Why was my Myntra application rejected with no reason given? Myntra rarely explains. The usual causes are document mismatches, missing brand rights, thin catalogue or images below standard, and poor category fit. Fix the most likely cause and reapply.
Get the application right first time
Myntra approval is won on preparation: matching documents, brand rights in order, a range deep enough to merchandise and images that already look like the platform. Blooprint Automation prepares Myntra applications, catalogues and commercial negotiations for fashion and beauty brands, then runs the account through EORS and beyond.
