Amazon Australia Sales Calendar: The Retail Year for Sellers, With Amazon Events Marked

By Blooprint team ยท Published 20 October 2026 ยท 6 min read

Key takeaways

  • Amazon's Australian newsroom lists two 2026 events: Prime Day (7 to 13 July) and Prime Big Deal Days (29 September to 5 October); Black Friday and Boxing Day dates are not announced.
  • Click Frenzy, EOFY, Singles Day and Boxing Day are retail-wide events, not Amazon programmes; Amazon has not named them as seller events on any public page.
  • FBA storage rises from A$37.00 to A$51.80 per cubic metre (standard-size, excl. GST) for October to December, so peak-season stock costs more.
  • Build your stock plan backwards from event dates and treat every unannounced date as unconfirmed until it appears in Seller Central or on an Amazon-owned page.

The Australian retail year has two Amazon-run peaks, Prime Day in July and Prime Big Deal Days in the September to October stretch, surrounded by retail-wide events such as Click Frenzy, EOFY, Singles Day, Black Friday and Boxing Day. In 2026 Prime Day ran from 7 to 13 July and Prime Big Deal Days from 29 September to 5 October. The table below marks which events are Amazon's and which are not, and says plainly where a date is unconfirmed.

What is on the Amazon Australia sales calendar?

Dates below are for the 2026 calendar year unless stated. "Amazon event" means Amazon itself has named and dated it on an Amazon-owned page. Status is as of 19 October 2026.

Event Date Amazon event? Status
Click Frenzy (main November sale) Run by Click Frenzy; check its own site No Dates not confirmed here. Third-party calendars estimate around 10 to 12 November, which is unconfirmed
EOFY Financial year ends 30 June; sales run through June No Amazon has not named an EOFY sale publicly
Prime Day 7 to 13 July 2026 Yes Confirmed
Prime Big Deal Days 29 September to 5 October 2026 Yes Listed in a banner on Amazon's Australian newsroom page; the 2025 edition ended 13 October 2025
Singles Day 11 November No Amazon has not named it as an Australian event
Black Friday Friday 27 November 2026 Not confirmed Calendar date only; no 2026 event dates on Amazon.com.au
Cyber Monday Monday 30 November 2026 Not confirmed Calendar date only
Christmas 25 December Not an event Last order and shipping cut-offs are set by carriers and by Amazon delivery promises
Boxing Day Saturday 26 December 2026 Not confirmed No Amazon Australia dates found

If a source gives you a firmer date than this table, check whether that source is Amazon, the event organiser or a third party. Only the first two can confirm.

Which of these are actually Amazon events?

Two that Amazon names publicly: Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days. Amazon names both on its news pages. Amazon's Prime Day seller guide also lists Prime Day as a seller event with advice on inventory, pricing, listings and ads.

For the others, shoppers expect sales, and many sellers run promotions, but Amazon has not published seller-facing windows. Whether an Amazon-run Black Friday event takes place is something to confirm in Seller Central. Each event has its own guide: Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, EOFY and Boxing Day.

What do we know about next year's dates?

Amazon had not announced 2027 dates for any event on any public page as of 19 October 2026. A pattern is visible: Prime Day 2025 ran for seven full days, and Prime Day 2026 ran for seven days in July. The spring event has run in the late September to mid-October window in 2025 and 2026. A pattern is a planning assumption, not a promise, and your supplier orders should not depend on it.

How should the calendar shape stock and cash?

Work out the cost of holding stock across the busy months. FBA monthly storage is A$37.00 per cubic metre for standard-size items from January to September and A$51.80 from October to December, excluding GST. Oversize items are A$34.20 and A$48.00. Storage is billed on daily average volume.

That means stock for Prime Day in July is cheaper to hold than stock for Black Friday and Boxing Day. It also means a Prime Big Deal Days stock-up in September rolls straight into the higher storage rate in October.

Aged stock adds to this. The aged inventory surcharge starts at 271 days, at A$155 per cubic metre, assessed on the 15th. Stock you bought for the July event and did not sell can cross 270 days around the following April, so plan clearance before then. See Amazon Australia storage fees.

Check this first. Plan stock for the last big event first, usually Christmas, then work back. Late-year orders from China may take weeks to arrive and be checked in.

A year-round calendar to run your business by

This is a planning order, not an Amazon schedule.

  1. January to February: Review the Christmas results and returns. Clear aged stock. Storage drops back to the lower rate.
  2. March to May: Order stock for EOFY and Prime Day. Fix listings and build coupons for your best ASINs.
  3. June: EOFY pricing and a stocktake. See EOFY guide.
  4. July: Prime Day. Watch budgets and stock each day.
  5. August to September: Rebuild stock. Plan for the spring event.
  6. September to October: Prime Big Deal Days. Start Christmas orders at the same time.
  7. November: Click Frenzy window, Singles Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Peak storage is already running.
  8. December: Christmas cut-offs, then Boxing Day.

Which tools do you need for any event?

A Professional plan, at A$49.95 a month plus selling fees excluding GST, gives access to Lightning Deals and Best Deals, with coupons set up from the Coupons dashboard. Amazon Ads also need an active Professional account. Details on options and unpublished fees are in the deals and coupons guide. For ads in a sale week, see Prime Day advertising strategy.

How do shoppers behave around these dates?

Amazon's seller guide cites Amazon-commissioned research saying 84% of Australians wait for sales before purchasing, and that over 70% of Australians planning Christmas presents would buy in July if discounts were substantial. Take that as Amazon's own framing. It still points at something sellers see in their data: demand bunches around named sale periods, and a quiet week before a big event is normal rather than a problem.

Two practical consequences follow. First, do not judge a product by the week before a sale, because some shoppers are waiting. Second, a price cut outside a sale period competes with shoppers' expectation of a better price later. Many sellers keep their regular price steady and use coupons or ads in quiet weeks, then discount deeper in named windows. That is a choice, not an Amazon rule, and your margins decide it.

Check your own sales history by week for the last twelve months and mark the spikes. Your data will tell you which calendar events matter for your category far better than any national list. A toy seller will see a very different year from a seller of garden tools, and a Professional-plan seller can then target deals at the weeks that matter.

FAQ

What are the big Amazon sale dates in Australia? Amazon's Australian newsroom lists two 2026 events: Prime Day (7 to 13 July) and Prime Big Deal Days (29 September to 5 October). Black Friday and Boxing Day dates have not been announced on Amazon's public pages.

Is Click Frenzy an Amazon event? No. Click Frenzy is a separate Australian online sale event. Amazon has not named it as a seller programme on any public page. Check the organiser's own site for dates rather than relying on third-party calendars.

When is Black Friday 2026 in Australia? The calendar day is Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Amazon had not published event dates on Amazon.com.au as of 19 October 2026.

Does Amazon Australia run Singles Day? No public Amazon Australia page names Singles Day (11 November) as an Amazon event. Treat it as a retail date shoppers may know, not an Amazon programme.

Do I need to be on FBA for these events? Not strictly. Amazon recommends FBA for high order volumes, and eligibility for specific deals is shown in Seller Central. Merchant-fulfilled sellers can still use coupons and ads.

Where do I find official deal deadlines? In Seller Central, in the deals and promotions dashboard. Amazon does not publish Australian deal deadlines or fees on a public page.
