Amazon Australia had not published 2026 Black Friday or Cyber Monday dates on its own pages as of 19 October 2026. Amazon's own Black Friday page on Amazon.com.au carries no 2026 event dates at the time of writing. The calendar days are Friday 27 November and Monday 30 November 2026, but whether Amazon runs a deals event, how long it lasts and what the deal deadlines are will only be confirmed by Amazon. Plan around the weekend, keep stock flexible, and treat any exact "Amazon Black Friday start time" you read elsewhere as unconfirmed.

Amazon Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Australia: A Seller Prep Plan for 2026
By Blooprint team ยท Published 20 October 2026 ยท 6 min read
Key takeaways
- Amazon Australia had not published 2026 Black Friday or Cyber Monday dates on its pages as of 19 October 2026; the calendar days are Friday 27 and Monday 30 November.
- Peak FBA storage applies from October: A$51.80 per cubic metre for standard-size stock, against A$37.00 from January to September, excluding GST.
- Lightning Deals and Best Deals need a Professional plan at A$49.95 a month excl. GST; Amazon publishes deal deadlines and fees only inside Seller Central.
- Stock that is not checked in at a fulfilment centre before the event cannot sell with Prime delivery, so inbound shipments are the first deadline that matters.

What do we actually know about Amazon Black Friday in Australia?
Very little that is official, and it is better to say so. Amazon's public Australian seller pages give no 2026 Black Friday or Cyber Monday dates, no deal-submission window and no event-specific fees. Third-party calendars place Black Friday on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November 2026, which is simply where those days fall.
What Amazon has confirmed publicly about its other 2026 events gives you a pattern. Prime Day 2026 ran from 7 to 13 July. Last year's spring event, Prime Big Deal Days, ran to 13 October 2025. Neither tells you what Amazon will do in late November. See the Amazon Australia sales calendar for the whole year.
Check this first. Look in Seller Central for a deals or promotions banner naming Black Friday. If it is not there, Amazon has not opened submissions to you yet. Do not pay for stock on the strength of a rumoured date.
Do I need to wait for Amazon's announcement before preparing?
No. Almost everything that decides your result happens before any announcement:
- stock at the fulfilment centres,
- listing quality,
- your price and margin,
- ad structure and budget,
- account health.
Amazon's own advice for its big sale events is to forecast stock from past sales, allow for lead times with a buffer, check competitor pricing, keep discounts inside a healthy margin and consider more ad spend. That advice is written for Prime Day but applies equally here.
Amazon-commissioned research quoted on the same page says 84% of Australians wait for sales before purchasing. Treat it as marketing from Amazon rather than an independent survey, but it matches what most sellers see: shoppers hold off in November.
What does it cost to hold stock over the Black Friday period?
This is where November planning differs from Prime Day in July. FBA monthly storage is A$37.00 per cubic metre for standard-size items from January to September, and A$51.80 per cubic metre from October to December, excluding GST. Oversize items are A$34.20 and A$48.00. Storage is billed on daily average volume.
An illustration with invented inputs: 5 cubic metres of standard-size stock held for a full 30-day month costs about A$185.00 in September (5 x A$37.00) and about A$259.00 in October or November (5 x A$51.80), both excluding GST. That is a A$74.00 difference for the same stock, so do not send in months of cover you will not sell by Christmas.
Aged stock is the other cost. The aged inventory surcharge starts on units held 271 to 300 days at A$155 per cubic metre, assessed on the 15th of the month. More detail is in Amazon Australia storage fees.
Which deal tools can you use?
Sellers on the Professional plan can create two deal types, Lightning Deals and Best Deals, and run coupons from the Coupons dashboard. The Professional plan is A$49.95 a month excluding GST.
Amazon does not publish deal fees, minimum discounts or eligibility thresholds for Australia on a public page. They are shown in Seller Central at the point you create the deal. Our deals and coupons guide explains how to read them.
Eligible FBA products can also be featured on Amazon Outlet for overstock and clearance. That is a useful exit for aged stock after the sale.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday prep timeline
This is a suggested plan, built backwards from Friday 27 November 2026. Today is 19 October, so some steps are already tight.
- Now (late October): Fix your forecast per ASIN. Decide which products get a deal and which get ads only. Check that no listing is suppressed (see suppressed listings).
- By end of October: Create FBA shipments for stock you want available. Amazon says stock is typically available within three working days of delivery, and fulfilment centres are in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. Allow extra time in peak.
- First two weeks of November: Submit any deals Amazon opens to you. Lock your prices and make sure coupons do not stack into a loss.
- Week before: Raise ad budgets on your best converting campaigns. Sponsored Products supports dynamic bidding. Review Amazon PPC bidding.
- Event weekend: Check stock cover and budgets morning and evening. Pause ads on ASINs close to stock-out.
- After Cyber Monday: Plan for returns. The FBA fulfilment fee covers picking, packing, shipping, customer service and returns, but a returns processing fee applies in categories where Amazon offers free returns shipping.
What if you fulfil orders yourself?
Merchant-fulfilled sellers can still take part with coupons and ads. The risk is late shipping. Amazon's performance targets are a late shipment rate under 4% and a pre-fulfilment cancel rate under 2.5%. Check your carrier cut-offs: Australia Post and other carriers publish their own last-order dates for Christmas, and those dates are not Amazon's. See FBM with Australia Post.
What goes wrong most often in the November peak?
Four problems repeat every year, and none depends on Amazon's dates.
- Stock-outs on the best seller. The ASIN with the most ad spend runs out first, and the ranking you built drops while it is unavailable. Set a stock-cover alert per ASIN and cut ad budgets when cover falls under a week.
- Discount stacking. A coupon plus a deal plus a lower list price can take you below cost. Write down the lowest price each ASIN may reach and check it against your fees before you switch anything on.
- Late inbound. Shipments created in mid-November often will not be received in time. Count the days from carrier pick-up to check-in, not just to delivery.
- Ignoring account health. A rising order defect rate before the peak is expensive, because Amazon's target is under 1%. See Amazon account health in Australia.
Keep a one-page sheet with each ASIN, its lowest allowed price, units in stock, units inbound and the ad budget. It takes an hour and prevents most of the above.
FAQ
When is Amazon Black Friday 2026 in Australia? Amazon had not announced 2026 dates on Amazon.com.au pages as of 19 October 2026. The calendar days are Friday 27 November and Monday 30 November. Amazon may start deals earlier in the week, as retailers often do, but that is not confirmed.
Does Amazon Australia run Black Friday at all? Amazon has a Black Friday page on Amazon.com.au, but it carried no 2026 event details as of 19 October 2026. Whether it runs a dated seller deals programme is something to confirm in Seller Central once Amazon announces it.
Can I submit a Black Friday deal now? Only if Seller Central lists it. Check the deals dashboard. Lightning Deals and Best Deals are available to Professional sellers, but deal windows are not published publicly.
Is November storage more expensive? Yes. From October to December standard-size storage is A$51.80 per cubic metre, up from A$37.00 earlier in the year, excluding GST. Send what you expect to sell, not a full year of stock.
Should I discount deeply for Black Friday? Only to the point your margin holds after referral fee, fulfilment fee and GST. Amazon itself advises keeping discounts within a healthy profit margin. Run the numbers per ASIN first.
Does Black Friday matter if I only sell small items? It can. The A$13 price break in FBA fulfilment fees means low-priced items pay a lower rate, which helps thin margins. Still check each item's margin after the discount.
