Key takeaways

  • Amazon.sa says a commercial registration is a mandatory prerequisite for registering and selling, and its sign-up checklist asks for a KSA National ID.
  • Most referral fees are between 5% and 15%, FBA fulfilment starts at SAR 5.5 per unit, and Amazon lists the Professional plan at no monthly fee for a limited time.
  • New sellers get 30% off referral fees for 60 days on up to SAR 150,000 of sales, plus SAR 370 of ad credit, on an offer valid until 31 December 2026.
  • The Amazon.sa pages do not say whether a UAE-registered company can open an account, so get Amazon's answer in writing before you plan stock.

To sell on Amazon.sa you need a Saudi commercial registration: Amazon states that "a commercial registration is a mandatory prerequisite for registering and selling products" there. Its sign-up checklist also asks for a KSA National ID, a bank account for proceeds, a phone number and an email. The pages I opened do not say whether a company registered in the UAE can open an Amazon.sa account, so a UAE seller should treat that as unconfirmed, not as a yes. This guide covers the documents, the fees as of October 2026, the offers and the safer alternatives.

Check this first. If you only hold a UAE trade license and Amazon.ae account, do not ship stock to Saudi Arabia on the assumption that Amazon.sa will accept you. Ask Amazon Seller Support in writing which entity and documents it will accept.

Can a UAE company sell on Amazon.sa?

Amazon does not answer this on the registration or pricing pages. What the pages do say points one way: commercial registration is mandatory, and the checklist names a KSA National ID, with a Power of Attorney if the person registering is a legal representative rather than the owner.

For a seller whose company is only registered in the UAE, that leaves three practical options:

  1. Ask Amazon in writing whether your UAE entity qualifies, and keep the reply.
  2. Set up a Saudi entity or work with a Saudi partner who holds the commercial registration. See Saudi business license for sellers.
  3. Reach Saudi shoppers through another channel first, such as noon's cross-border lane described in noon GCC cross-border lane.

Amazon.sa and Amazon.ae are separate stores with separate account requirements. Your Amazon.ae documents are covered in Amazon.ae seller account requirements.

What documents does Amazon.sa ask for?

From Amazon's registration page, as of October 2026:

Item What Amazon lists
Account login Business email address or an existing Amazon customer account
Contact A phone number where you are reachable
Identity KSA National ID
Business Commercial Registration if you are the owner; Power of Attorney only if you are a legal representative
Payout A bank account where Amazon can send sales proceeds

Amazon also links a downloadable registration guide, which I could not read in full. Download it before you start.

Separately, Amazon.sa says you provide a credit card and a bank account when you set up, that proceeds are paid into the bank account with fees deducted first, and that other charges can fall on the card.

What does selling on Amazon.sa cost?

All listed fees are shown excluding VAT, and Amazon adds VAT on top. Figures below are Amazon's published starting points, not totals for your category.

Fee Amazon.sa published figure
Referral fee Most between 5% and 15%; starts at 5% or a minimum of SAR 1.0 by category
FBA fulfilment fee Starts at SAR 5.5 per unit, varies by size
Easy Ship shipping fee Starts at SAR 19.0 per shipment; sellers may collect up to SAR 12 per shipment from customers
FBA long-term storage Charged on inventory held 365 days or more
Professional plan No monthly subscription fee for a limited time

Source for the table: Amazon.sa's selling-fee page. Amazon says the Professional plan suits sellers who sell more than 40 units a month, want to advertise or need restricted categories. The category-by-category referral table sits on a separate Amazon page, so check your category there.

Illustrative example, built from the published minimums: an item sold at SAR 100 in a category charging the 5% starting rate pays SAR 5 in referral fee. In a 15% category it pays SAR 15. VAT on the fee, FBA fees and ads come on top.

Which new-seller offers are live?

Amazon.sa lists these offers on its seller pages:

  • 30% off referral fees in all categories for the first 60 days, on up to SAR 150,000 of sales.
  • SAR 370 of advertising credit valid for 30 days, with a promo code entered within the stated window.
  • Up to SAR 3,500 of Sponsored Products credit for an eligible product advertised within 90 days of listing, expiring 30 days after it is applied.
  • A 5% referral fee for up to 120 days on new-to-Prime parent ASINs listed on or after 7 October 2025, for the first 100 standard-size or 50 oversize units.
  • Free monthly storage for the first 30 units of new-to-FBA products for up to 90 days.
  • A brand rebate of up to 5% on the first SAR 3,500,000 of eligible branded sales, capped at SAR 175,000.

Amazon states the main offer is valid until 31 December 2026, so check the terms at the time you register. To get the 30% referral discount you must add your first products within 20 days of signing up, and the SAR 370 credit needs a Sponsored Products campaign launched within 14 days of entering the promo code. Plan your catalogue before you click register. If you plan ads, see Amazon.ae PPC guide for the structure, which carries over in principle.

How does fulfilment work for Saudi orders?

Amazon.sa lists three modes: Fulfilment by Amazon, Easy Ship and self-ship. With FBA or Easy Ship, Amazon says it manages shipping, returns and customer service. With FBA your stock sits in Amazon's Saudi fulfilment centres, which is where the 365-day long-term storage fee applies. So FBA stock must be inside Saudi Arabia.

Moving goods from the UAE to Saudi Arabia is an import, so import VAT and customs apply and you need someone who can act as importer. Read Saudi VAT for UAE companies and shipping from the UAE to Saudi Arabia before you commit to FBA stock. Product conformity is separate again: see SABER certificate cost.

Amazon.sa or noon KSA: which first for a UAE seller?

noon states that it is open to businesses and individuals in the UAE, KSA and Egypt and that international sellers, whose company is outside the selling country, can register. Its documents page lists an international seller route for Saudi Arabia, where a company registered anywhere except KSA can register with a passport as identity proof. Amazon.sa's pages list no equivalent route. That is the main reason many UAE sellers test Saudi demand on noon first. Compare in how to sell on noon KSA and noon vs Amazon KSA for sellers.

What goes wrong for UAE sellers on Amazon.sa

  • Signing up with UAE documents, being asked for a KSA National ID and commercial registration, and losing the launch-offer window.
  • Sending FBA stock before settling who is importer of record and who pays import VAT.
  • Listing products that need SABER or other approvals without the certificate.
  • Assuming Amazon.ae fees apply. The two stores publish separate fee pages.
