Noon DirectShip Express (2026): Eligibility, Outbound Fee Discounts, Handover Adherence and Why the Express Badge Pauses

By Blooprint team ยท Published 27 September 2026 ยท 10 min read

Key takeaways

  • DirectShip Express is an upgrade inside FBP: you keep your own warehouse but commit to a daily handover window in exchange for an Express badge.
  • To apply you need a directship_v2 warehouse, 30 days of FBP history, 30 FBP orders in 30 days, and defect, cancellation and late-shipment rates at or under 5%, 2% and 3%.
  • From 10 September 2026 Express orders get a flat 10% discount on DirectShip outbound fees in the UAE and 20% in KSA, replacing the old order-value bands.
  • Handover adherence must stay at or above 97% on a rolling 28-day window, and out-of-stock under 2%, or the Express badge pauses.

DirectShip Express (DSE) is the part of noon most Indian sellers have never heard of, because almost nothing has been written about it outside noon's own help centre. It is not a third fulfilment model. It is an upgrade inside Fulfilled by Partner: your stock, your pick, your pack, your warehouse, but on a tighter daily clock, in exchange for an Express badge and a discount on the outbound fee.

This page covers the two Express models, who can apply, what the badge costs and saves, the thresholds you have to hold, and why the badge goes dark. All figures are from noon's help centre as read on 27 September 2026. Rupee conversions use an illustrative Rs 23.50 per AED and Rs 23 per SAR; the rate moves, so check the day's rate before you price.

Which reader is this for? Mostly the seller already based in the UAE or KSA, because DSE needs a warehouse inside noon's Express coverage. An Indian brand exporting in through noon's Global Store sits on the FBN card instead. The part that matters to an exporter is the cross-border consequence in the last section.

What is DirectShip Express and how does it differ from FBN and FBP?

noon has two base fulfilment models. Under FBN (Fulfilled by noon) your stock sits in a noon warehouse and noon picks, packs and ships it. Under FBP (Fulfilled by Partner) you store, pick and pack in your own warehouse and noon handles the delivery leg to the customer. Our FBN vs FBP guide compares the two properly; the short version is that FBN charges per unit and DirectShip charges per shipment, which changes the maths entirely on multi-unit orders. Either way VAT is added to every fee at 5% in the UAE and 15% in KSA.

DirectShip Express layers on top of FBP. In noon's own words your core warehouse operations stay the same, but you follow a tighter daily schedule so the customer gets the order next day or within two days. Enrolled listings carry an Express badge, which noon says buys better placement and higher search priority, better conversion, and buyer trust across your whole seller profile.

Express runs on one of two models depending on who actually drives the parcel to the customer.

ModelWho deliversMetric that decides your badgeHandover modes
DirectShip (DS)You pack; noon delivers to the customerOn-time handover, measured as adherence ratePickup by a noon Delivery Agent in a daily window, or drop-off at a noon drop point before cutoff
Direct Delivery (DD)You pack and you deliver to the customerOn-time delivery to the doorstepNot applicable

The distinction matters because the performance bar is very different. Note also that bulky items (furniture, large appliances, oversized tech) follow their own schedules and fees, are charged on size or volumetric weight, and need extra packaging protection. Check estimated shipping time and fees for bulky SKUs under warehouse settings in Seller Lab.

Who can join DirectShip Express?

Enrolment is selective and there are two ways in: your account manager nominates your warehouse, or you self opt-in from Seller Lab under Fulfilled by Partner, then DirectShip, then the Express Program icon. Either way the application is checked automatically against a baseline and an account-health bar.

RequirementThreshold noon publishes
Warehouse typeAn active directship_v2 warehouse
FBP historyAt least 30 days of active fulfilment through FBP
Order volumeAt least 30 FBP orders processed in the last 30 days
Item defect rate5% or below
Cancellation rate2% or below
Late shipment rate3% or below
LocationWarehouse inside noon's Express delivery coverage area

noon warns that these thresholds may move and that the live eligibility check in Seller Lab is the source of truth. The application will not let you proceed while any health metric is out of range, so fix the metric first.

During setup you fix four settings that then govern the badge day to day: which directship_v2 warehouse to enrol, your processing time (for example two hours), your daily Express order capacity, and up to two weekly off days. Two of these have teeth. If daily orders hit your capacity the Express tag pauses until the next cutoff, which is a protection rather than a punishment. And while adding an off day later is self-service, removing one requires a support request.

Applications then pass two human reviews: a category review of sales volume and account health, and a logistics review that confirms coverage and courier capacity and sets your go-live date. Drop-off warehouses in already-covered areas skip the logistics review.

Why do Express applications get rejected?

Rejected applications cannot be reopened; you fix the cause and submit a new one. Most published reasons are about the building rather than the business: an unclear or missing address, a non-serviceable area, a free-zone address, a wrong pin location, not enough parking for noon's vehicles, or a warehouse inside a shopping mall, which cannot take Express pickup logistics. The rest are courier capacity limits, account-health or policy failures, and a catalogue not approved for Express.

Free-zone addresses are called out by name. If you are an Indian brand that set up in a UAE free zone and warehouses there, read the rejection list before you plan around Express. A free-zone address appears in noon's published rejection reasons, so treat Express as something to confirm with noon in writing, not to assume.

What does DirectShip Express cost?

Nothing extra, and slightly less than standard DirectShip. noon is explicit that all standard commissions and base fees for Express orders are identical to standard DirectShip orders. What Express adds is a discount off the standard DirectShip outbound rate card. All fees are quoted excluding VAT, and the discount applies only to orders placed after your warehouse is formally approved and enrolled.

The discount structure changed on 10 September 2026, and this is the fact most third-party write-ups still have wrong. Until 9 September 2026 the discount varied by order value and parcel type. From 10 September 2026 it is a single flat rate per country.

CountryUntil 9 Sep 2026From 10 Sep 2026
UAE25% off standard and oversized parcels at order value at or below 75 AED; 10% standard and 20% oversized above 75 AED10% off DirectShip outbound on standard and oversized parcels
KSA40% standard and 50% oversized at or below 75 SAR; 20% standard and 40% oversized above 75 SAR20% off DirectShip outbound on standard and oversized parcels
Egypt40% off standard and oversized parcels40% off standard and oversized parcels

Read that table twice if you sell cheap items in KSA. A 60 SAR order used to earn 40% off the outbound fee and now earns 20%. On low-priced SKUs that is a real margin change dated 10 September 2026, and it arrived in the same revision window as the referral-fee and FBN changes covered in our noon seller fees guide.

How is the discount actually calculated?

The discount comes off the standard DirectShip outbound fee, charged per shipment at the delivered or return date, whichever comes first, on the higher of physical or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length times breadth times height divided by 5,000. A standard parcel has a longest side of 45 cm or under, median 34 cm or under and shortest 26 cm or under, with 100 g added for packaging and a 12 kg shipping-weight ceiling. Anything bigger is oversize.

Worked example: an 85 AED order in the UAE, standard parcel, 0.8 kg, noon pickup

LineAEDApprox. INR at Rs 23.50Basis
Standard DirectShip outbound, pickup15.00Rs 353Standard parcel, above 0.50 kg and up to 1.0 kg

Outbound fee payable13.50Rs 317
Same order at 70 AED under the old bands11.25Rs 26425% off, order value at or below 75 AED

Worked example: a 60 SAR order in KSA, standard parcel, 0.4 kg, drop-off

LineSARApprox. INR at Rs 23Basis
Standard DirectShip outbound, drop-off17.50Rs 403Standard parcel, above 0.25 kg and up to 0.50 kg
Express discount from 10 Sep 2026-3.50-Rs 8120% off the KSA rate card
Outbound fee payable14.00Rs 322
Same order before 10 Sep 202610.50Rs 24240% off at order value up to 75 SAR

Two observations. KSA DirectShip outbound is materially dearer than the UAE: 19.00 SAR against 14.00 AED for the lightest standard-parcel slab on pickup. And on a 60 SAR order even the discounted 14.00 SAR fee is 23% of order value before the referral fee. Express does not rescue a badly priced SKU; it makes a well-priced one more visible.

What noon does not publish. We found no published figures for the Express coverage area, the courier capacity limits behind a rejection, the daily capacity ceiling, or how much lift the badge gives in placement and conversion. noon states those benefits qualitatively only, so any Express uplift percentage you see elsewhere is somebody's estimate.

What performance do you have to hold to keep the badge?

The Express badge is a customer promise, so noon polices it hard, and the bar depends on your model.

MetricDirectShip Express (DS)Direct Delivery (DD)
On-time performance97% or better handover adherence85% or better on-time delivery
Out-of-stock rateUnder 2%Under 10%

Adherence is measured on a rolling 28-day window: each day the oldest drops off and the newest is added, so one bad day dents the rate and then heals itself once it rolls out. Missed handovers count only on days your warehouse was expected to operate. Approved exception days, scheduled weekly off-days and public or custom holidays do not count, because the tag pauses automatically and no orders are promised.

The 97% figure deserves a moment: on a 28-day window a single miss can take you under the threshold, which is why noon's own advice is to create the day's shipment before cutoff every single day. If a miss was outside your control, raise a dispute ticket with the incident date and details, and make sure that day's shipment was created before cutoff, or the dispute will not stand.

Why has my Express badge stopped showing?

noon lists four causes and each has a different fix.

  • Performance breach. Adherence or out-of-stock went out of range. If the cause was logistics or technical, submit a dispute; once approved the affected days stop counting and the badge restores automatically. If the cause was yours, submit a Plan of Action through your account manager; on approval the tag restores.
  • Capacity exceeded. You hit your daily order limit. The tag pauses until the next cutoff and returns by itself. If it happens often, raise your capacity under the DirectShip tab in Seller Lab, which is self-serve.
  • Holiday pause. The tag turns off one day before a scheduled holiday, right after cutoff, and reactivates when the holiday ends. No action needed.
  • Account deactivation. Warehouse status shows deactivated by noon. Submit a support ticket for an account-level review.

noon warns that repeated or unaddressed breaches put your account at risk of permanent removal from the programme, and removal is not reversible by waiting. Accurate inventory, realistic daily capacity and a shipment created before cutoff are the three habits that keep the badge, and they are standing tasks in our noon account management work because they are daily, not monthly.

Does Express affect cross-border selling?

Yes, and this is the part an Indian exporter should care about. Only FBN and FBP DirectShip Express listings qualify for noon's GCC cross-border lane into Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait; standard non-Express FBP and Direct Delivery items are excluded. The Express badge is not only a visibility play at home, it is one of only two doors into the wider Gulf. The same logic shapes the UAE to KSA lane covered in our noon KSA guide. One catch: on cross-border orders noon manages destination logistics, so sellers are not reimbursed for shipping fees collected from customers.

Is DirectShip Express worth it?

With a warehouse inside coverage, 30 days of clean FBP history and the discipline to hit a daily handover window, Express is close to free money: the same commission, a cheaper outbound fee, better placement and a door into the GCC lane. If your operations are lumpy, the 97% adherence bar will find you out, and a failed badge is worse than never having had one.

FAQ

What is DirectShip Express on noon? It is a fast-delivery programme inside FBP. You keep fulfilling from your own warehouse, commit to a daily handover window, and your listings carry an Express badge promising next-day or two-day delivery.

How much does DirectShip Express cost? Nothing extra. Commissions and base fees are identical to standard DirectShip, and Express orders get a discount on the DirectShip outbound fee: 10% in the UAE and 20% in KSA from 10 September 2026, 40% in Egypt.

What adherence rate does noon require for Express? 97% or better handover adherence for the DirectShip model, or 85% or better on-time delivery for Direct Delivery, plus out-of-stock under 2% and under 10% respectively, measured on a rolling 28-day window.

Can an Indian seller join DirectShip Express? Not through the Global Store route, because Express requires an active directship_v2 warehouse inside noon's UAE or KSA Express coverage. An Indian brand with its own UAE entity and warehouse can apply like any local seller.

Why did my Express tag pause? Four published causes: a performance breach, hitting your daily order capacity, a scheduled holiday, or warehouse deactivation. Capacity and holiday pauses restore automatically; breaches need a dispute or a Plan of Action.

Do Express listings qualify for GCC cross-border selling? Yes. Only FBN and FBP DirectShip Express listings are eligible for noon's GCC lane. Standard non-Express FBP and Direct Delivery items are excluded.

Running Express without missing a cutoff

DirectShip Express rewards routine and punishes improvisation. If you want someone watching the daily shipment creation, the adherence rate, the capacity setting and the dispute window, that is what our noon account management service does. We run noon alongside Amazon and Flipkart for Indian brands, so the fulfilment choice gets made against your whole marketplace mix rather than in isolation.
