To become a talabat partner in the UAE, you fill in the sign-up form on talabat's UAE partner portal, complete the online onboarding, upload your documents and then go live with a tablet and an account manager, as described on the portal on 9 October 2026. talabat lists a trade license or business registration, a tax certificate if applicable, an Emirates ID, a power of attorney if applicable and a trademark certificate if applicable. The page does not state a commission rate.

What are the steps to register as a talabat partner?

The partner portal describes four stages. This is talabat's own description, read on 9 October 2026.

  1. Sign up. Fill in the form on the portal. You need a valid phone number and email address.
  2. Complete onboarding. talabat asks you to complete the online process so that onboarding is quick.
  3. Submit documents. You provide copies for verification (list below).
  4. Go live. talabat says you receive a tablet with preinstalled software for receiving and managing orders, a dedicated account manager and access to its Vendor Portal.

The portal does not publish a timeline from sign-up to go-live. Other websites quote anything from a week to several weeks, but none of those figures comes from talabat, so treat them as guesses and ask your account contact for a date in writing.

Check this first. The portal page we could read is written mainly for restaurants (it also says "business or shop"). It never mentions grocery, retail or packaged-goods sellers. If you make or distribute packaged food, read the talabat mart supplier guide instead of assuming the restaurant sign-up applies.

Which documents does talabat ask for?

talabat's UAE partner page lists these documents:

Document When talabat asks for it
Trade license or business registration Always listed
Tax certificate If applicable
Emirates ID Listed
Power of attorney If applicable, for example when someone signs for the owner
Trademark certificate If applicable, for example when you list a branded menu

The page does not mention a food permit. That does not mean you can skip one. A food business in Dubai answers to Dubai Municipality as well as to the platform. Dubai Municipality's food-safety page lists services such as "Request for Layout Assessment for Food Establishment Licensing" and "Request for Permit Related to Food Activities", with no fees shown on the page. Your trade license and food approvals need to be in place before a delivery platform has anything to verify. Outside Dubai, the municipality in your emirate sets the equivalent rules, and we have not checked those pages.

If you are deciding which license to hold in the first place, the cloud kitchen license guide covers the delivery-only route, and the UAE e-commerce license overview covers selling online more broadly.

How far will talabat deliver from my location?

talabat states that delivery is limited to "within a 15 minute drive time from the location of the business or shop". That one sentence decides whether the app is worth your rent.

  • A kitchen in a dense area puts more homes inside the 15-minute circle than one on the edge of an industrial zone.
  • The circle is measured in drive time, so traffic and one-way systems matter more than the straight-line distance.
  • If you want reach across a whole emirate, you need more than one location. The portal does not describe a multi-location arrangement, so ask your account manager how a second kitchen is set up and whether it needs a separate application.

Before you pay for a lease, put your address into the customer-facing app and look at which competitors already serve that circle. That costs nothing and tells you more than any consultancy blog.

When do you get paid?

talabat says your first payment arrives 45 days after you go live, and after that you are paid every two weeks.

That 45-day gap is a cash-flow problem for a new kitchen. You will buy ingredients, pay staff and pay rent for six weeks or more before the first transfer lands. The portal does not say whether the first payment covers only the first period or everything sold since go-live, so ask.

A simple way to plan for it, with illustrative numbers only: if your kitchen spends AED 18,000 a month on rent, staff and ingredients, you should hold at least that amount, plus a buffer, before you go live. The figure is an example, not a talabat requirement.

What does talabat charge?

The partner page we read does not state a commission rate. It says the commission helps ensure delivery partners are fairly paid and covers platform services, with the remainder going to costs such as insurance, payment processing, marketing and customer service. No percentage is given.

You will see percentages on consultancy blogs and in news items about specific programmes. Do not use them. A figure tied to a trade-association programme or a particular restaurant group may not apply to you. Ask talabat for:

  • the commission percentage for your business type and whether it differs for delivery by talabat riders and delivery by your own staff;
  • every other charge, including payment processing, advertising and any tablet or onboarding fee;
  • how refunds, missing items and customer compensation are charged back to you;
  • how long you are tied in, and how you leave.

The portal also mentions DineOut, an optional dine-in feature with its own agreement and, per the page, no sign-up fees. It is not part of the standard delivery sign-up.

How do you price your menu once commission is deducted?

Work backwards from what you keep. This is a method, not a talabat rule.

  1. Take the menu price a customer pays on the app.
  2. Subtract the commission percentage once talabat gives it to you in writing.
  3. Subtract food cost, packaging, and a share of labour and rent.
  4. If the number left is below zero, either raise the app price or drop the dish from the app menu.

Some kitchens set app prices above their own-channel prices for this reason. Check talabat's current terms on whether it allows different pricing between channels, because the page we read does not say.

Check this first. If you charge VAT, your tax invoice must follow FTA rules. The mandatory VAT registration threshold is AED 375,000 and the voluntary threshold is AED 187,500, per the FTA page last updated 6 April 2026. This is general information, not tax or legal advice; confirm with the Federal Tax Authority.

What goes wrong at onboarding, and how do you avoid it?

  • Name mismatch. The trade name on your license, your menu and your bank account should match. Fix this before you apply.
  • Licensed activity does not fit. If your license says one thing and you sell another, expect questions. Ask the licensing authority to add the activity first.
  • Weak menu content. talabat's page does not publish photo or menu standards. Ask what it requires so that you do not shoot photos twice.
  • Cash-flow shock. See the 45-day first payment above.
  • Overlapping platforms. If you will also list on other apps, read the Careem Quik and InstaShop guides first and compare terms on the same checklist.

FAQ

Is there a fee to sign up as a talabat partner in the UAE? The partner page we read does not list a sign-up fee for the standard delivery partnership. It says the optional DineOut feature has no sign-up fees. Because commission and other charges are not stated, ask talabat in writing for every charge before you accept.

Do I need a trade license to join talabat? talabat's UAE partner page lists a trade license or business registration as the first document. A person without any license should read the home food guide for what the rules say about food made at home, before approaching any platform.

How long does talabat take to approve a new partner? talabat does not publish an approval time on the partner page. Third-party articles give different numbers and none comes from talabat. Ask your onboarding contact for a go-live date in writing and plan your lease around the later end of whatever you are told.

Can a home kitchen join talabat? The talabat partner page does not address home kitchens. Dubai's Intelaq home-business rules require a separate kitchen with an outside entrance for food preparation, per a 2020 Dubai Media Office release. See the home food guide before you apply.

Does talabat charge commission on delivery by my own riders? The page does not say. It states that commission covers platform services and helps pay delivery partners, but gives no rate and does not separate rider types. Ask for the answer in writing, because it changes your margin more than any other line.

Can I list a packaged product brand instead of a restaurant? The partner page is written mainly for restaurants and does not mention grocery or retail. For packaged goods and groceries, see the talabat mart supplier guide, which explains what is published and what is not.

Where do I ask talabat a question? Use the partner portal's contact options or your assigned account manager after sign-up. We could not verify a public support number, so we do not list one.
