Careem Quik Supplier Guide: What Is Public, What Is Not, and How to Prepare Before You Pitch

By Blooprint team ยท Published 10 October 2026 ยท 6 min read

Key takeaways

  • We found no public supplier application or published supplier terms for Careem Quik when we checked on 9 October 2026, so any fee or margin figure you read online is unverified.
  • Treat Careem Quik as a buyer relationship. Pitch a named buyer with a range sheet, not a generic web form.
  • Registrations come first: trade license, Dubai Municipality food-item registration where it applies, compliant labels, barcodes and a tax number if you are VAT-registered.
  • Run the same written question list on every quick-commerce app so you can compare margin, payment terms and returns side by side.

Careem does not publish a public supplier application or supplier terms for Careem Quik that we could find on 9 October 2026. The consumer pages we tried to open for Careem returned errors, and we could not confirm a sign-up form, a minimum order, a margin or a payment term. So the honest route is a buyer pitch: prepare your registrations, your range sheet and a written list of terms, then approach Careem's commercial team directly and keep every answer in writing.

What do we actually know about supplying Careem Quik?

Very little is confirmed in public, and that is the first thing to know. Careem Quik is a quick-commerce grocery service, and a supplier is a business that sells products to it, not a customer. Beyond that, we could not verify from a Careem page:

  • whether Quik buys stock outright or works on consignment;
  • the margin or commission it takes;
  • payment terms, listing fees or promotional contributions;
  • a minimum order, case size or delivery window;
  • whether a small brand can apply directly or must come through a distributor.

Blog posts and consultancy pages publish numbers for all of these. None of those numbers came from Careem, so we do not repeat them. If a number matters to your decision, get it from Careem in an email.

Check this first. Ask a Careem contact whether your product category is currently being added at all. A category that is full is a faster "no" than a long application. This is a question to ask, not a published rule.

How should you approach Careem Quik?

  1. Identify the right person. Quick-commerce buying sits with category or commercial managers, not customer support. Use your network, trade events and professional profiles to find a named contact.
  2. Write a short email. Say who you are, what you sell, where it is registered and what makes it a fast mover in a small store. Attach a one-page range sheet.
  3. Make it easy to say yes. Quote pack sizes that fit a small dark store, a clear shelf life and your delivery lead time. The glossary entry on a dark store explains why space is the constraint.
  4. Ask for terms before shipping. Use the table below.
  5. Start small. Agree a trial range, a trial period and a review date in writing.

What registrations should you have before you pitch?

For food and drink in Dubai, Dubai Municipality's food-safety page lists a service called "Apply to Register and Assess a Food Item". That page shows service titles only and gives no fee or timeline, so confirm those on the service page. Our Dubai Municipality product registration guide explains the process.

Dubai's own 2020 rules for home-licensed food traders show how closely suppliers are tracked: supplier and service-provider details had to be registered on the Food Watch platform, and imported products had to be registered on the federal ZAD portal before import. That release is about one license type, and it is six years old, but it signals what a careful buyer will ask for: proof that your product and your supply chain are registered.

Have this folder ready:

  • trade license covering import, wholesale or manufacturing as relevant;
  • product registration per food item where required;
  • labels that meet the UAE food label requirements;
  • halal certification where relevant, see the halal certificate guide;
  • a barcode on each pack, see GTIN;
  • a tax registration number if you are VAT-registered. The mandatory VAT threshold is AED 375,000 and the voluntary threshold is AED 187,500, per the FTA page last updated 6 April 2026.

This is general information, not tax or legal advice. Confirm with the Federal Tax Authority and the municipality for your product.

Which questions should you put to Careem?

Question What a poor answer looks like
Is this outright purchase or consignment? "We will discuss later"
What is the margin, and on which price? No number, or a number on retail you cannot verify
What are the payment terms and start date? Terms that run from an undefined date
What fees apply beyond margin (listing, promotion, marketing)? A list that grows after you ship
What are the delivery windows and the purchase-order process? No named receiving contact
How are expiry, damage and returns handled? Supplier bears all of it with no cut-off
Is there a service-level target for supply? Penalties without a defined measure

The glossary entries on fill rate, purchase order and SLA explain the terms you are likely to meet.

How do you compare Careem Quik with talabat mart and InstaShop?

Use the same table for each. The talabat mart supplier guide records what talabat has and has not published, and the InstaShop guide does the same for that app. For reference, talabat mart's own page promises delivery in about 20 minutes, and talabat's partner portal states a 15-minute drive-time radius from the business or shop. Those are talabat's numbers. Do not assume Careem uses either.

When you compare, rank the terms in this order: payment timing, return and expiry handling, margin, then marketing contributions. A high margin with 90-day payment can cost you more than a lower margin paid in 30 days.

What is a sensible first order?

With illustrative numbers only, not Careem terms: suppose you invoice AED 8.40 a unit and your landed cost is AED 6.20, so contribution is AED 2.20. A trial of 2,400 units would contribute AED 5,280 if all sold at that price. If 10% expired and were written off at cost, you would lose 240 units times AED 6.20, which is AED 1,488, leaving AED 3,792 before overheads. That is why the returns and expiry answer matters more than it looks.

Can you sell through a distributor instead?

Often yes, and sometimes it is the only practical route for a small brand. A distributor carries registration, warehousing and the buyer relationship, and takes a margin for it. We do not know which distributors supply Careem, and we do not name any. Ask your own distributors whether they already do. If you go that way, check who holds the product registration, because the buyer will ask.

FAQ

How do I become a Careem Quik supplier? Careem does not publish a public application, as far as we could find on 9 October 2026. Prepare your registrations and a range sheet, find the commercial or category contact, and pitch by email. Ask for the buying route, terms and a trial order in writing.

Does Careem Quik charge suppliers a listing fee? We could not confirm any fee, and Careem has not published a rate card we could read. Ask directly for every charge, including listing, promotion and marketing contributions, and keep the reply.

Do I need Dubai Municipality product registration for Careem Quik? For food sold in Dubai, Dubai Municipality lists a food-item registration service, and buyers usually expect registered products. We cannot say which of your items need it, so confirm item by item with the municipality.

Can a home-based food business supply Careem Quik? Dubai's Intelaq home-business rules, published in 2020, allow food trade only with the home as a management office, with no storage or repackaging at home. Read the home food guide for the full rules.

Is Careem Quik the same as the Careem food delivery app? We could not verify how Careem structures supplier relationships across its services. Treat Quik's grocery buying as separate from restaurant onboarding unless Careem tells you otherwise in writing.

What minimum order will Careem Quik want? Not published. Ask for a minimum order, pack size and delivery window in the first email, and plan stock around the answer.

Should I wait until Careem publishes terms? No. Registrations and clean product data take weeks to prepare regardless, and they help with every other buyer too. Prepare now, pitch when your folder is complete.
