For a fashion seller based in the UAE, Amazon.ae and noon are the two channels you can join on your own with a trade license, while Namshi and the newer fashion platforms work more like a brand-approved shelf. Amazon.ae publishes a 15% referral fee for apparel, excluding VAT. noon needs a valid UAE trade license with a sales, trading, manufacturing or distribution activity. Namshi's seller terms are not publicly posted. This page compares the five channels sellers ask about, as of October 2026, and says clearly where a number is not published.

Which fashion channel should a UAE seller start with?

Start with the channel that has the fewest gates between you and a live listing, then add one that fits your brand.

Channel How you join Published fee information Best for
Amazon.ae Open registration with a trade license 15% apparel referral fee, excl. VAT Brands with own stock, branded and unbranded basics, FBA reach
noon Open registration with a trade license Category rate cards sit in the seller portal Mid-priced fashion, local sellers, GCC reach from one UAE catalogue
Namshi Brand and catalogue approval No public rate card found Established fashion and sportswear brands with strong imagery
Trendyol UAE Online registration, Dubai SME programme Introductory commission discounts published; base rate card not found Value fashion and local SMEs
AIVI (formerly 6thStreet) No seller page found Not published Brands wanting a group-run retail platform; contact the buying team

If you only read one row: Amazon.ae and noon are where a new UAE fashion business can be selling within weeks, and the others are worth a conversation once you have a brand and a catalogue.

How do you get accepted on Amazon.ae for fashion?

Amazon.ae lists the Professional plan with no monthly subscription fee for a limited time, as of October 2026. You still pay the referral fee on each sale. For apparel it is 15%, with a minimum of AED 1 per item, and the fees on the pricing page are shown excluding VAT. Most Amazon.ae referral fees fall between 4.5% and 15%, so apparel sits at the top of the range.

Fashion adds friction that other categories do not: size charts, colour variants, brand approval for named brands and, for your own label, a brand registry process. Read Amazon.ae seller account requirements and Amazon.ae referral fees by category before you start. For apparel and shoes stored with Amazon, the Try FBA programme lists free monthly storage for the first 100 standard-size units for 120 days, which helps with slow-moving sizes.

The full account route is in how to sell on Amazon.ae.

How do you get accepted on noon for fashion?

noon says it is open to businesses and individuals across the UAE, KSA and Egypt, but the individual seller category is Egypt only, so a UAE seller needs a company license. The license must include a sales, trading, manufacturing or distribution activity and have at least 30 days of validity.

noon sets a price for each GCC destination from your UAE price plus destination VAT, import duties and a logistics fee, and your net payout per unit is the same as on an equivalent UAE sale. That makes noon the simplest way for a UAE fashion seller to reach Saudi Arabia without a second license. Registration steps are in noon seller registration for a UAE company and how to sell on noon.

Check this first. noon's fee tables for fashion are in the seller portal, not on a public page we could open. Take screenshots of the rate card on the day you sign up, because fees change.

What do you know about selling on Namshi?

Namshi is a fashion and lifestyle platform that Emaar agreed to sell to noon in a deal reported at USD 335.2 million. That is a news report from 2022, so treat it as background and not as a statement of how sellers are onboarded today.

What sellers typically prepare, from the two Namshi guides on this site, is a brand portfolio, images to a fashion standard and a catalogue sheet. The fees, commission and payout cycle for Namshi are covered in Namshi seller fees explained, and the application steps are in Namshi seller onboarding. We did not find a public Namshi page that states the commission as a percentage, so this page does not give one. Ask Namshi for the rate, the return-handling terms and the payout date in writing.

Are Trendyol and AIVI worth a look for fashion?

Trendyol UAE. Trendyol runs a marketplace model for sellers in the Gulf, with local currency pricing on the UAE site, and its seller documentation says the UAE entity, Trendyol DWC LLC, pays sellers and issues invoices. That FAQ is undated and written around launch, so confirm today's terms. In 2026 Dubai Chambers and Trendyol announced a programme for referred SMEs with a 40% discount on the introductory commission rate for the first three months. The base commission is not stated there. Full detail is in selling on Trendyol UAE.

AIVI (formerly 6thStreet). Apparel Group launched AIVI in August 2026 as "the evolution of 6thStreet". We found no public seller application. Read selling on 6thStreet for what to do instead.

For luxury and designer labels, the equivalent gate sits at Ounass; see selling on Ounass.

What does a first-year fashion plan look like?

An illustrative example, using only the published Amazon.ae rate. A UAE brand sells a jacket at AED 300 on Amazon.ae. The 15% apparel referral fee is AED 45 before VAT. That is before fulfilment, returns, advertising and your cost of goods, none of which this page assumes.

Fashion also carries a returns cost that other categories do not. Sizing returns are normal, so model a return allowance in your own margin sheet using your own data; we do not quote an industry return rate because we have no primary source for one.

A workable order of operations:

  1. Get the trade license and bank account in place.
  2. Open Amazon.ae and noon with a core catalogue of your best 20 to 50 styles.
  3. Build clean images and size data once and reuse them everywhere.
  4. Apply to Namshi, Trendyol or AIVI with live sales data as evidence.
  5. Use Instagram for demand, not as your only checkout; see selling on Instagram in the UAE.

Do you need to register for VAT to sell fashion online?

Yes, once your taxable supplies pass the threshold. UAE VAT registration is mandatory above AED 375,000 and voluntary above AED 187,500. Marketplaces can ask for your VAT number early, and noon has a non-VAT onboarding option for sellers below the threshold. This is general information, not tax advice; confirm with the Federal Tax Authority. See UAE VAT registration for sellers.

FAQ

Is Namshi or noon better for a new UAE fashion brand? noon is easier to join, because registration needs a trade license and not a brand review. Namshi is more selective and values strong imagery and brand identity. Start on noon or Amazon.ae to build sales data, then apply to Namshi with it.

What does Amazon.ae charge for clothing? Amazon.ae lists a 15% referral fee for apparel with a minimum of AED 1 per item, shown excluding VAT, as of October 2026. Fulfilment and storage fees come on top if you use FBA. Check the pricing page for the current table.

Can I sell fashion on noon without a trade license? Not as a UAE seller. noon's individual seller category is available in Egypt only, and UAE sellers need a valid trade license with a sales, trading, manufacturing or distribution activity.

Does Namshi charge a commission? We could not confirm Namshi's commission model, because we found no public Namshi page that publishes a rate. Our guide on Namshi seller fees explains how to structure the question. Ask for the percentage, returns policy and payout date in writing.

Is 6thStreet still a place to sell? 6thStreet.com now redirects to AIVI, which Apparel Group launched in August 2026 as the next stage of 6thStreet. We found no seller application on either site.

Should I sell on more than one marketplace? Usually yes, once the first is stable. The same product data, images and size charts can be reused. Keep stock rules clear so one channel does not oversell stock you promised to another.

Can I sell fashion only on Instagram? You can, but you will still need the right license, and checkout and delivery stay your job. Read selling on Instagram in the UAE for what the rules say.

What to do next

Pick one open marketplace, get a clean catalogue live, and keep the Namshi and Trendyol applications for when you have sales to show. If you choose Amazon.ae or noon, Blooprint, an Amazon SPN verified partner and Amazon Ads Advanced Partner, can run your Amazon.ae account management and noon account management. The wider comparison is in best marketplaces to sell in the UAE.
