Dragon Mart is a large Chinese-goods market and mall in Dubai that you can use to source stock, but its own website does not say it is a wholesale market. It calls itself "The Largest Chinese Market and Mall in Dubai", lists over 3,500 outlets and names furniture, electronics, building materials and fashion among the goods sold. It publishes no minimum order quantities, trade prices or wholesale terms on that page. So the price, the minimum quantity and the paperwork are all things you agree with each shop, as of October 2026.

Dragon Mart Wholesale: How UAE Online Sellers Can Source Stock, and What to Check Before You Buy
By Blooprint team · Published 10 October 2026 · 6 min read
Key takeaways
- Dragon Mart describes itself as the largest Chinese market and mall in Dubai, with over 3,500 outlets; its own home page does not publish wholesale terms or minimum orders.
- Negotiate price in the shop, but get a tax invoice every time: failing to issue one is a AED 2,500 FTA penalty per detected case, and marketplaces ask for supplier invoices.
- Regulated goods such as cosmetics, supplements and toys need Dubai Municipality registration, and a shop selling them does not make them approved for online sale.
- Brand-name stock bought without papers is the biggest risk: noon's counterfeit penalty starts at AED 200,000 and Amazon.ae gates brands.

What does Dragon Mart actually publish?
Not much about trade. The home page gives opening hours of Sunday to Thursday 10:00 to 22:00 and Friday to Saturday 10:00 to 23:00, and describes a mall with dining and children's play areas. It does not state whether shops sell wholesale or retail, and it gives no minimum orders. We could not find an official page listing which shops export, hold stock for volume buyers or deal in branded goods.
That gap matters because most guides online give wholesale terms for Dragon Mart as if they were fixed. They are not published, so treat any number you read as a shop's own quote, not a market rule. Ask each shop in writing.
When does Dragon Mart make sense for an online seller?
It works well when:
- you want to see and test a product before you commit, including build quality and packaging;
- you need small batches quickly, with no overseas shipping time;
- you are testing a product idea on Amazon.ae or noon before placing a factory order;
- the product is non-branded, or a category where you will build your own brand.
It works badly when you need a stable supply at a fixed landed cost, because local shop prices move and a shop can sell out. For larger runs, importing direct is usually the next step; see importing from China to the UAE. For other trade areas of Dubai, see wholesale markets in Dubai for sellers.
How do you buy from Dragon Mart without creating problems later?
- Ask who the legal seller is. You want a trade name and, for VAT-registered shops, a Tax Registration Number (TRN) on the invoice.
- Ask for a tax invoice, not a handwritten receipt. The FTA fines a taxable person AED 2,500 for each detected case of failing to issue a tax invoice. If you buy as a VAT-registered business, the invoice is also your record for the VAT you paid. Check the rules in VAT registration for sellers.
- Write the product details on the invoice. Brand, model, quantity, unit price and your company name. Marketplaces and customs ask for the paper trail, not for photos.
- Ask for the manufacturer's name and country of origin. You need these for listing, labels and any later import.
- Photograph the product, the box, the barcode and the shop stall number. If a brand later disputes the item, you can show where it came from.
- Agree returns and defects in writing before you pay for a batch.
Check this first. A shop selling a product in a mall does not prove it can be sold online. Approvals attach to the product and to you as the seller, not to the shop.
Which products from Dragon Mart need approval before you sell online?
Check each category before you buy stock:
| Category | What to check | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Cosmetics, fragrances, supplements, detergents, toys, food-contact items | Dubai Municipality (DM) product registration through Montaji | DM lists these among its regulated categories; see Montaji registration |
| Cosmetics and personal care labels | English and/or Arabic label with brand, manufacturer or UAE agent, country of origin, ingredients, dates and batch | DM cosmetics guideline |
| Electronics with radio | TDRA approval | TDRA type approval for sellers |
| Regulated products generally | MoIAT conformity certificate where required | MoIAT service page; see ECAS certificate |
| Branded goods | Written authorisation or supplier chain papers | Amazon.ae Brand Registry, noon rules below |
DM's fine for importing an unregistered, spoiled or expired consumer product is AED 1,000 per product. That rule is written for imports, so ask DM or a registered importer how it applies to stock you buy locally from a shop that imported it.
How risky is brand-name stock at Dragon Mart?
High, unless the shop can show where it came from. noon's counterfeit penalty is a minimum of AED/SAR 200,000, plus delisting, account revocation, reporting to authorities and legal action. noon gives you three calendar days to answer a penalty notice with authenticity documents such as supplier invoices and brand registration. A cash receipt from a stall will not meet that test. Amazon.ae marks some categories as "Approval Requiring Categories" and may run performance checks before it approves you. If you cannot document the chain, do not sell the brand. Our guide to noon's anti-counterfeit policy explains the process.
What should you do with the stock once you have it?
Check the labels before you list. If the product label is only in Chinese, you may need an English or Arabic label that meets the rules for its category; DM's cosmetics guideline accepts clear English and/or Arabic labels. UAE consumer rules also require invoices to be in Arabic, and allow other languages as well. Your own sale invoice to the buyer is your responsibility, not the shop's.
Then list. Photos, titles and bullet points built for the UAE search terms matter more than the supply source. Our Amazon.ae GTIN exemption guide helps if your product has no barcode, and GS1 barcodes in the UAE explains the paid route.
A simple cost check before you buy 500 units
Use illustrative numbers. Suppose a shop quotes AED 20 per unit for a kitchen item you will sell at AED 70 on Amazon.ae. Amazon.ae's Kitchen referral fee is 15%, with a minimum of AED 1. That is AED 10.50 in referral fee on AED 70. Before shipping, VAT, packaging and advertising, you are left with AED 39.50 per unit. If you buy 500 units, that is AED 10,000 of stock and about AED 19,750 of gross margin at those inputs. The number is only a start: add outbound fulfilment, returns, damage and your time. The full fee map is in Amazon.ae seller fees.
FAQ
Is Dragon Mart a wholesale market? Its website calls it the largest Chinese market and mall in Dubai, with over 3,500 outlets, and does not say whether shops sell wholesale. Wholesale terms are set by each shop. Ask for a written quote with minimum quantity before you travel.
What are Dragon Mart's opening hours? Sunday to Thursday 10:00 to 22:00 and Friday to Saturday 10:00 to 23:00, according to its website as of October 2026. Individual shops may keep different hours, so confirm with the shop you plan to visit.
Can I get a VAT invoice from Dragon Mart shops? Only from shops that are VAT-registered and issue tax invoices. The FTA penalty for failing to issue a tax invoice is AED 2,500 for each detected case. Ask for the TRN on the invoice before you pay, and keep it for your VAT records.
Do I need a license to buy from Dragon Mart? Buying for resale online means you need a license for the activity; see what license you need to sell online. Marketplaces such as noon require a trade license with Sales, Trading or Distribution/Wholesale activity.
Can I sell Dragon Mart products on Amazon.ae and noon? Yes if the product is legal to sell, correctly labelled, not counterfeit and you meet category rules. Amazon.ae may ask for approval in restricted categories. noon penalises counterfeits from AED 200,000.
Is Dragon Mart cheaper than importing from China? We cannot say; no official source compares them. Shop prices include the shop's own margin, while importing direct adds freight, 5% customs duty on CIF value, VAT and clearance. Compare a real landed-cost quote for each route.
