Carrefour UAE runs a third-party marketplace on carrefouruae.com and its app, and any UAE business can apply to sell on it. Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), which operates Carrefour in the UAE, launched the marketplace on 23 April 2020 for its shopping mall tenants "and other businesses across the UAE". The apply route named in that release is marketplace.carrefouruae.com/seller. What MAF has not published, in anything we could open in October 2026, is a commission table. This guide shows how to apply, what to ask for, and how to decide whether Carrefour deserves a place next to Amazon.ae and noon.

Carrefour UAE Marketplace Seller Guide: How to Apply, What Is Published and What to Ask For in Writing
By Blooprint team ยท Published 10 October 2026 ยท 7 min read
Key takeaways
- Majid Al Futtaim launched the Carrefour marketplace on carrefouruae.com on 23 April 2020 for mall tenants and other UAE businesses, not only for Carrefour suppliers.
- The 2020 launch release gave 3 to 5 days from sign-up to first listing, named Aramex as the marketplace logistics provider and said non-tenant sellers get 'competitive rates'.
- No commission rate, fee table or payout cycle is published in the sources reachable in October 2026, so request all three in writing before you sign.
- Supplying Carrefour stores as a vendor is a different process from selling on the marketplace; the supplier route is covered in a separate guide.

Who can sell on the Carrefour UAE marketplace?
The launch release says the marketplace was built for two groups: MAF mall tenants and other UAE businesses. It had been piloted for six months with third-party sellers before launch. Named early sellers were mall tenants such as Borders, LUSH, Tavola, Arabian Oud and Jacky's.
So you do not need a shop in a Majid Al Futtaim mall. But the release speaks of "businesses", not individuals. Assume you need a UAE trade license that covers the products you sell, and confirm that with the marketplace team. If you do not have a license yet, start with what license you need to sell online in the UAE and the free zone vs mainland comparison.
Check this first. The release is from 2020. Terms, categories and eligibility can change. Treat it as the official starting point, not as today's rulebook.
How do you apply?
MAF's release gives two routes: visit marketplace.carrefouruae.com/seller, or email MPSellerContactUs@mafcarrefour.com with questions. When we tried the seller portal in October 2026 it did not load for us, so email is the safer first step if the page is blank for you too.
A practical order of work:
- Prepare your trade license, the activities printed on it, your company details and your bank account details.
- Prepare a product sheet: product names, brands, barcodes, images, prices in AED, stock levels.
- Email the marketplace team with a short introduction, your category and your number of products, and ask the questions listed below.
- Wait for the account management team to respond. The release says a dedicated account management team supports new sellers.
- List a small first batch, check how it displays, then scale.
How fast can you go live?
The release says that within three to five days of signing up, brands can list their products on carrefouruae.com. That is a 2020 statement. Treat it as a target for a clean application, not a promise. Delays usually come from your side: a license that does not list the product activity, missing barcodes or brand documents, or goods that need a product approval.
If you sell cosmetics, food or regulated electronics, get the approval before you list. See Dubai Municipality product registration.
What does it cost to sell on Carrefour UAE?
This is the question the sources do not answer. The 2020 release states only the following:
| Item | What MAF published | Status in October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Commission for non-tenant sellers | "competitive rates" | No percentage published in sources we could open |
| Commission for mall tenants | Commission-free in April and May 2020 only | Temporary offer, no longer applies |
| Last-mile delivery | 30 days free for tenants in 2020; Aramex is the official provider | Current delivery pricing not published |
| Listing or monthly fee | Not mentioned | Ask |
Do not plan your margin on a rate you heard from an agency or a forum post. Ask the marketplace team for the current commission by category, any delivery or fulfilment charge, any returns or chargeback fees, and the payout schedule, and ask for them in a document you can keep.
What should you ask Carrefour before you sign?
Send these questions in one email and keep the reply:
- What is the commission for my exact category, and is it charged on the price with or without VAT?
- Who delivers the order: Aramex through the marketplace, or me? What does each option cost per parcel?
- Do you offer cash on delivery, and who carries the cost and the risk of refused parcels? See cash on delivery for UAE sellers.
- When is the first payout after a delivery, and how long is the payout cycle?
- What are the return rules and who pays for returns?
- Are there category approvals or brand documents I must provide?
- Can I run promotions or sponsored placement, and what do they cost?
- How is the account suspended or restricted, and how do I appeal?
If any answer is "it depends", ask what it depends on.
Is Carrefour right for your products?
Carrefour is a mass-market grocery and household retailer first. The release says the marketplace brings grocery retail and lifestyle brands together in one place, and names early tenant sellers such as Borders, LUSH, Tavola, Arabian Oud and Jacky's. It can suit you if your product is a household, beauty, food or gift item that fits next to those, and if you can price for a mass-market shopper.
It suits you less if you need brand control, deep advertising tools, or Prime-style fast delivery. The 2020 release does not describe an advertising product. Amazon.ae, for example, publishes seller incentives of up to AED 175,000 for new brand owners, and Sharaf DG says it works on a fixed or minimum guaranteed margin. For those goals, compare it with the larger platforms in the best marketplaces to sell in the UAE, and read how to sell on noon and Amazon.ae seller account requirements.
Marketplace seller or Carrefour supplier: what is the difference?
On the marketplace you are the seller. You hold the stock, set the price and the shopper buys from you through the Carrefour app or site. As a supplier, you sell your goods to Carrefour, which stocks them in its own stores and warehouses and buys at a wholesale price. They are different applications with different teams. The supplier route is in supermarket supplier registration in the UAE. If you also sell electronics, compare the Sharaf DG marketplace.
What goes wrong for new Carrefour sellers?
- Pricing to a rate you assumed. If your margin only works at the lowest commission you have seen quoted, get the real rate first.
- Listing without the right approval. Cosmetics, supplements and some electronics need approvals before listing.
- Ignoring returns and refused cash-on-delivery parcels. Model a return rate in your costs before launch.
- Spreading too thin. One marketplace done well beats five done badly. Start where your product's shoppers already search.
- VAT confusion. A business must register for VAT once taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000, and may register voluntarily above AED 187,500. Read UAE VAT registration for sellers. This is general information, not tax or legal advice; confirm with the FTA.
FAQ
Can anyone sell on the Carrefour UAE marketplace? MAF's launch release says the marketplace is open to mall tenants and other businesses across the UAE. It describes businesses, not individuals, so assume you need a trade license. Confirm eligibility for your category with the marketplace team by email before you invest in stock or listings.
What is the Carrefour marketplace commission? It is not published in the sources we could open in October 2026. The 2020 release says non-tenant sellers get "competitive rates" and nothing more. Ask for the commission by category in writing, and ask whether it applies to the VAT-inclusive price.
How do I contact the Carrefour marketplace seller team? The launch release names marketplace.carrefouruae.com/seller for sign-up and MPSellerContactUs@mafcarrefour.com for questions. The portal did not load for us in October 2026, so try the email if the page is blank.
Who delivers marketplace orders at Carrefour? The release names Aramex as the official logistics provider for marketplace sellers who need last-mile delivery. Whether you can also self-deliver, and what each option costs, is not published; ask the team.
How long does it take to start selling on Carrefour UAE? The 2020 release said brands could list within three to five days of signing up. That is a launch-time statement. Allow longer if your license, brand documents or product approvals are not ready, and treat the quoted days as a best case.
Is selling on Carrefour the same as becoming a Carrefour supplier? No. A marketplace seller lists products on carrefouruae.com and sells to shoppers directly. A supplier sells goods wholesale to Carrefour for its stores. They have separate onboarding, so read the supplier registration guide if that is your route.
Should a new UAE seller start with Carrefour or with Amazon.ae and noon? For most brands, start where shoppers search for your product type and where you can advertise. Amazon.ae and noon offer seller tools and advertising; Carrefour fits household, beauty and food lines. Compare them in the best marketplaces to sell in the UAE.
What to do next
Email the marketplace team with the questions above, get the commission, delivery and payout terms in writing, and test with a small batch. When you are ready to run the larger channels, Blooprint manages Amazon.ae and noon seller accounts and advertising for brands; see Amazon.ae account management and noon account management.
