Ecommerce License in Ajman (2026): DED Mainland Fees, Free Zone Packages and What Marketplaces Accept

To sell online from Ajman you need a license that covers e-commerce from one of two places: the Ajman Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED) for a mainland license, or one of the Ajman free zones. As of October 2026, Ajman DED lists AED 600 for issuing or renewing an economic license. Other fees are added on top, including AED 200 for the commercial register and AED 1,500 for the CSR UAE Fund. Among the free zones, Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone advertises packages from AED 4,888. Ajman Free Zone has its own e-commerce license category.

Which Ajman authorities issue an e-commerce license?

There are four Ajman options a seller usually compares. The table shows what each publishes about e-commerce as of October 2026.

The sources for each row are in the sections below. Ajman also has smaller free zones. We have not reviewed them here, so check their published activity lists yourself.

How much does an Ajman DED mainland e-commerce license cost?

Ajman DED publishes its service fees itemised on the Commercial License Issuance page. It does not publish a single package price. As of October 2026 the page lists these fees:

The same page says three costs are set elsewhere. Contract documentation fees depend on the capital in the contract. Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry fees are charged on top. Your lease must be authenticated by the Municipality and Planning Department. DED does not publish the rent or the Chamber fee on that page.

Worked example (illustrative). Say you set up a limited liability company and every item in the table applies, with a one-page translation. The DED items add up to AED 6,250: 600 + 50 + 350 + 100 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 1,500 + 3,000 + 50. If you are not an LLC, the AED 3,000 publishing fee does not apply to you, which brings the total to AED 3,250. Neither figure includes rent, Chamber fees, contract documentation, visas or approvals from other authorities. Before you commit, run DED's free fee-estimate e-service. How do you apply for a mainland license through Ajman DED?

The issuance page sets out the process in this order:

1. Reserve a trade name, online or at a customer happiness centre.
2. If any owner is a foreigner, get approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality.
3. If your activity is high-risk, get approval from the other government entities involved.
4. Have your lease contract authenticated by the Municipality and Planning Department.
5. Pay the fees.
6. For companies, issue the memorandum of association.
7. Receive the license. All economic activities come with Chamber of Commerce membership.

DED lists the service's delivery time as 10 minutes, through the e-service channel, and the license is valid for one year. In practice, that 10 minutes covers only the final issuing step. Name reservation, approvals and the lease attestation all come first.

On 19 December 2025 Ajman DED launched "Go Business", a five-step digital route to a license. You log in with UAE PASS, reserve the trade name, register the activity details (the memorandum of association is documented automatically), pay online, and receive the license with the membership certificate and establishment card.

Required documents include an Emirates ID for UAE nationals and residents, or a passport copy if a partner is a visitor. A branch also needs its parent company's documents.

What does Ajman Free Zone offer for e-commerce?

Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) offers an "E-Commerce License" category for companies trading electronically, in B2C and B2B. According to AFZ, its e-commerce packages include value-added services such as cash on delivery and trading on third-party portals. The activities AFZ lists in its e-commerce package are:

AFZ says offices, executive offices and warehouses are suited to this license. It also runs an E-Commerce Hub, a co-working space located near Ajman port and the Sharjah and Dubai airports. Pre-built warehouses start from 100 square metres. AFZ also offers short-term warehouse leasing, and says this is open to customers who are not AFZ licensees.

Price: AFZ does not publish a price for the e-commerce license. Its cost calculator asks for your activity, number of shareholders, number of visas and whether you need an office, then emails you an estimate. Ask for that quote in writing, with the renewal price shown separately.

What does Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone offer?

ANCFZ's activity list includes "E-Commerce" (4790001), for electronically buying or selling products online. It also includes "E-Commerce Through Social Media" (4791004), described as for businesses that want an e-commerce social media account for their existing commercial license. ANCFZ also advertises a "Pay as you go" package and payment in Tabby instalments. The page does not state renewal prices, so ask for them before you pay.

What about Ajman Media City Free Zone?

Ajman Media City (AMC) publishes the clearest renewal prices in Ajman. As of October 2026 they are:

Every package allows up to 10 activities and up to 10 shareholders, with co-working space. AMC describes itself as a hub for media, creative and digital activities. We could not confirm from its published activity list that it offers a goods-trading e-commerce activity. Before you pick AMC to sell physical products on Amazon.ae or noon, get written confirmation that your exact activity is allowed.

Which Ajman license will Amazon.ae and noon accept?

Amazon.ae says you need a business license to sell on Amazon UAE: "a Commercial Registration if you are the owner, or a Power of Attorney if you are a legal representative". Registration also asks for a national ID such as an Emirates ID, a recent bank or card statement or utility bill, and a bank account for payouts.

Amazon.ae publishes licensing partner pages for DET, Sharjah Publishing City, Meydan, RAKEZ and EEA. None of them is an Ajman authority. That does not mean an Ajman license is refused. It means Amazon has no Ajman partner offer to point you to. Make sure the activity printed on your license clearly covers selling goods online, because that is what the account reviewer reads. What comes after the license: VAT, bank and renewal

• VAT. You must register once your taxable supplies and imports exceed the mandatory threshold of AED 375,000. You may register voluntarily above AED 187,500. The UAE VAT registration guide for sellers covers the steps.
• Bank account. Marketplaces pay out to a business account in the license holder's name. See opening a UAE business bank account.
• Renewal. An Ajman DED license can be renewed for at least one year and at most four years. DED charges a fine if you do not renew within one month of expiry, and a further amount for each month of delay. The page lists these penalties but does not state the amounts. Can I sell on Amazon.ae with an Ajman free zone license? Amazon.ae requires a commercial registration or trade license, and it does not say that free zone licenses are excluded. Can I get an Ajman e-commerce license without a visa? Yes. ANCFZ sells a zero-visa package and AMC sells a zero-visa Business Club package. Both are listed on their package pages. How long does Ajman DED take to issue a license? DED lists 10 minutes as the delivery time for the issuing e-service. That covers only the final step. Before it, you need a trade name reservation, any approvals from other authorities and an authenticated lease. DED does not publish an end-to-end timeline, so plan for those earlier steps separately.

Is an Ajman license cheaper than Sharjah or Dubai? Some Ajman free zone packages have low published starting prices, but a fair comparison has to include visas, office or warehouse space, and renewal.
